Navy musician participates in exchange

Musician 1st Class Vincent Moody

Musician 1st Class Vincent Moody, a State University of New York at Fredonia and Fredonia School of Music alumnus, will be participating in an online music exchange with Fredonia School of Music on July 1 and 2.

Moody has served in the Navy for 16 years and is currently serving in Japan with the U.S. 7th Fleet Band. Moody joined the Navy to gain unique life experience through traveling and performing music all over the world.

“To serve in the 7th Fleet Band means I have the opportunity to be a part of history through music and community outreach,” said Moody. “Whether I’m in Japan, Australia, China, or South Korea I always do my best to have a positive impact on everyone I cross paths with. I welcome this opportunity and consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of this team and mission.”

Fredonia Summer Band Camp will keep the music going this summer with this free online experience, including a series of 50-minute Zoom sessions with Fredonia music faculty and esteemed alums, plus free 30-minute online lessons with Fredonia music faculty (limited availability).

The courses are Wednesday and Thursday for all Middle School and High School Band Students and are available online at no cost.

Participants must register today at fredonia.edu/summermusic.
