Holiday concert available for viewing through end of month

Rockefeller Arts Center at the State University of New York at Fredonia is making its 2020 virtual Christmas pops concert available for viewing online through the end of December.

The “Virtual Alumni Christmas Pops Concert” made its debut online on Tuesday, Dec. 15 with the free event drawing more than 1,000 viewers. The event featured a lineup of more than a dozen all-star alumni performers.

“All the performances were outstanding,” Rockefeller Director Jefferson Westwood said, “For those who were unable to tune in Tuesday night, we would like to make this free concert available for viewing throughout the holiday season.”

The concert can be viewed on Rockefeller Arts Center’s home page (fredonia.edu/rac) and its YouTube channel (youtube.com/rockefellerartscntr) and Facebook page (facebook.com/RockefellerArtsCenter).

Numbers range from traditional carols like “O Tannenbaum,” to Christmas classics like “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” and holiday chestnuts including “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” More modern tunes like Elton John’s “Step Into Christmas” are also included as well.

The “Virtual Alumni Christmas Pops Concert” is a DFT Communications Pops Series event sponsored radio stations WDOE and KIX Country as part of the 2020-21 Lake Shore Savings Season.
