The City of Dunkirk’s Music on the Pier Summer Concert Series continues for the second week this Thursday in Memorial Park. The concerts are presented by DFT Communications with stage sponsor National Grid and production company Advanced Production Group (APG).

Sponsored by KeyBank and Owl Homes of Fredonia, the themed Women Who Rock Night will open with Midnight Recovery from 5:25 to 6:45 p.m. as the headliner Gypsy Queen hits the stage from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Midnight Recovery Band is a local band that includes powerhouse Cortney Chyme (vocals), Todd Langworthy (bass and vocals), Paul Przybycien (guitar) and Kevin Parker (drums).

They play a wide variety of classic rock along with a few current country hits that has taken them all over Western New York and Pennsylvania to perform at festivals, clubs and special events.

They have been nominated as Best Classic Rock Band by the Buffalo Music Awards in recent years and Chyme was nominated as Best Female Lead Vocalist in 2023.

Gypsy Queen is Western New York’s finest veteran musicians with members from PassionWorks, Reset to Vinyl, Acoustria, Out on the Tiles and Grand Illusion. They joined together to honor the music from Heart and Fleetwood Mac and their only goal is to bring their iconic music to life so everyone can enjoy it.

Gypsy Queen features the amazing voices of singers Carolyn Daniels and Leah Pinnavaia, John Daniels (guitar), Scott Helfrich (guitar, vocals), Chris Rizzo (keyboards), Tim O’Connell (drums, percussion) and John Caruso (bass, vocals).

Guests are reminded to bring a chair. Food trucks and other vendors will be on site along with the city’s beverage tent. The Dunkirk Boardwalk Marketplace and surrounding businesses will also be open.

Dunkirk event brochures are available from the board atrium, Dunkirk City Hall or on-line.
