Silver Creek Senior Citizens meet

SILVER CREEK – The Silver Creek Seniors met on Aug. 4 with 19 members in attendance. President Randy Nurmi then opened the meeting with all saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing God Bless America. Chaplain Pauline Flitt read “Letting go, not giving up” and offered a prayer for the members and lunch. For lunch attendees enjoyed delicious corn on the cob, donated by Don and Kim Munch. In the spring of 2010 I arrived home from work to find my street lined with small orange flags, the type of which usually indicate some sort of digging soon to take place. The flags were quite curious to me since Ryan Place had only been established a few years prior and our street seemed to have all the necessary infrastructure already in place. What could anyone be digging along the entire south side of the street and right in front of our three year old house? NCCF announces Service Learning Grants

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026-27 Service Learning Grants. A total of $8,970 was awarded to eleven student-led projects at six school districts across the community. The grants support classroom initiatives that combine academic learning with meaningful community service, giving students the opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world impact.
