St. Joseph’s Gowanda special events begin today GOWANDA — St. Joseph’s Gowanda Catholic Church, located at 71 E. Main St., has developed a display of nativities from all over the world. Viewings will be held at the school Saturday, Nov. 30 from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 7 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon and Sunday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon. Come see the true meaning of Christmas. On Saturday, Dec. 21, the Church will hold its monthly community dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. All are welcome. There is no charge, but donations are accepted. Presbyterian Church plans Alternative Christmas Festival

On Dec. 6, 7 and 8, Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave. between Cottage Street and Forbes Place, will host its annual Alternative Christmas Festival. At the center of the festival is a display of over 600 nativities of different materials, sizes and cultures. The festival also includes an alternative market (SERRV International) that offers hand-crafted gifts from around the world (all are fair-trade meaning the craftspeople get a fair portion of the sale price of each item).
