Dunkirk Seniors list events

The April Birthday Lunch was recently held at the Dunkirk Senior Center. Those in attendance with an April birthday were in row one, from left: Barbara Edwards, Cheryl Gawronski, Barb Mizwa, Princess Case, Ann McIntyre, Phyllis Getselman, Josie Christopher, Linda Briggs, Edelmira Benn. The May birthday lunch will be on Wednesday, May 25. Any member with a May birthday is asked to call the Senior Center to register. The birthday person may bring a guest at a cost of $7.

The Dunkirk Senior Center will be sponsoring a bus trip to Seneca Allegany on June 28. Cost is $30 per member and includes $25 in free slot play. The Double Decker Bus tour to Buffalo and the Erie Dinner Theater Trip are both sold out.

The Dunkirk Senior Center is Sponsoring a Mother’s Day/Father’s Day Dinner on Sunday, June 5. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Dinner will be served at noon and consist of stuffed rolled steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetable, dessert. Cost is $12 per member. Sign up in the Senior Center Office.

The Senior Center will be sponsoring an Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, June 21. Tickets go on sale on Monday, June 6. Cost is $2 per member.

The Dunkirk Farmers’ Market will once again be held at the Senior Center parking area. The market will run every Wednesday starting June 8 to Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Social time is held at the Center every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Bring a bag lunch and play 25 cent bingo. Dominoes are played on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Advanced Tai Chi is Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Mah Jongg is Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Pinochle is Monday and Friday at 1 p.m. Exercise is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. Electronic classes are scheduled every two weeks. Call the Senior Center office to register for Cell Phone class, Tablet class, I-Pad class or computer class.

The winner of the April pill bottle guess was Donna Teeter. Stop by the Center and try your luck for May.
