Collins Center Seniors The next meeting for the Collins Center Seniors will be Monday, Feb. 24 at the Gowanda American Legion with a potluck lunch at noon followed by a short meeting and nominations for officers. A few seats are available on March 16: “St. Patrick’s Day Show” at the Seneca Niagara Casino in the Bears Den. Cost is $59 and includes the show, $20 free play and a free lunch buffet. JAMESTOWN — Janell Sluga and Tiffany Erhard from the Senior Life Matters program at Lutheran will be hosting a free seminar on Medicare Special Enrollment Periods. The program, titled “Medicare Special Enrollment Periods: What is so special about them?” will be held on Thursday, February 13 from 3-5 p.m. at the new Edgewood Commons located at 737 Falconer St., Jamestown. “For people in the community with Medicare insurance, it can be difficult at times to know when it is OK to switch insurance products,” said Janell Sluga, Geriatric Care Manager with Senior Life Matters. ...

Silver Creek Seniors President Ed Newman called the Jan. 14 meeting to order on a mild winter day. Chaplain Pauline Flitt invoked the blessing, giving thanks for each day we are together and offering a prayer for every need. As in our school days of yore, the brown bag lunch goodies were revealed with no possible swapping as might have been made in memories of days past.
