Edziu Kaus, president of the Sons of Liberty, would like to thank everyone who took part in our Disabled American Veterans Run on June 16.

“It was a success and we raised $400 for our veterans. There are so many people to thank and if we miss anyone, it’s not on purpose,” said the U.S. Army veteran.

“First, our helpers at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1017: Rhonda, Mary, Sue, Mike, Rose, Brian, Lori, Christina and our lovely bartender Vera.

“To the city who brought us our picnic tables, Bob who donated the tarp for the band, the band Trio, Ron and his crew – Milt, Sue, Pops, Gene and Frank who donated their time to cook our chicken, Dave and Gina from Tim Hortons, all the establishments who donated for basket raffles, all the riders who participated in the run, and a special thanks to all the law enforcement in Westfield-Ellicott (Falconer), Chautauqua County Sheriff’s and Dave Ortolano and Dunkirk’s finest for getting us all back safe.

“God bless our veterans, our president and our Great Nation.”
