Murray Post 1017 Auxiliary talks audit, donations

The John T. Murray Post 1017 Auxiliary recently met at the post. The meeting was called to order by the president.

Jill Kenny, past 6th District President, was introduced. She inspected the Auxiliary.

After roll call of the officers, minutes were read by secretary Robin Richmond. The minutes were approved. Treasurer Pat Kibbe read the treasurer’s report, which was filed subject to audit.

Mary Krupa will be making a collection box for the Blue Star Mothers. The Auxiliary will be collecting items until Nov. 13. Anyone wanting to know what items are being collected should contact Pat Rabb at 341-1328. A list will also be posted on Facebook.

A cancer grant is available to auxiliary members who have cancer. Contact Rabb for the form to fill out. It’s very easy, Eligible members can get $525 twice in their lifetimes.

The children’s Christmas party was discussed. No party will be held. However, member parents/grandparents can use a sign-up sheet at the post so that their children/grandchildren can receive a gift. Children up to the age of 11 will receive a gift. Gifts will be handed out by Santa’s helpers on Dec. 20. The time will be announced.

A motion on the floor to purchase 6th District Ways and Means tickets was passed.

Inspector Kenny addressed the Auxiliary and said that they are in good working order.

President Rabb attended the fall conference Zoom meeting. Because no convention was held in June, the awards for president and runner-up of the year were announced at the Zoom meeting. President Rabb was runner-up in her group.

Community outreach: Our new program was discussed.

The program chairman sent out emails to the department secretary. It was forwarded to all auxiliaries.

The meeting was closed according to ritual. The next meeting will be Monday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
