Beta Sigma Phi chapter making plans for holiday

Members of the Brocton Preceptor Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met on Nov. 9 at the home of President Lois Smith who presided over the meeting.

A Thank You note was received from the Fredonia Opera House for their recent donation.

Members voted to make a donation to the Brocton-Portland Food Bank.

The Social Committee is working on plans for a visit to 21 Brix soon for members and guests. Dana Haskin will inform members when plans are finalized.

The faded flowers of summer have been pulled out of the Village’s Arch Park Garden for the season by Lois Smith. Chapter members are looking forward to replanting the garden in the spring and maintaining it during the growing season next year.

Members are making plans for their annual Towel Bingo next year at the Brocton American Legion on Sunday, March 13.

The Chapter has been purchasing a variety of towels in anticipation that this event will be able to take place once again as it had to be canceled this past year because of COVID. This is the group’s only fundraiser for the year and the funds raised allow them to make donations to people and non profit organizations in need of assistance.

Each of the members also donate four beautiful towels.

The Social Committee will be planning their annual Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at the home of Marie Zambotti. Each member will bring a gift for their Secret Sister, an ornament for exchange and a dish to pass.

Get-Well, Thinking of You and Sympathy cards were sent out to several local citizens.

Marie Zambotti presented a very interesting program on “Lady Liberty,” her history as a gift from France and many fun facts from her beginning and continuing over the years until the present.

The Chapter’s next meeting will be held at the home of Nancy Munson on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Janice Hipwell will present the program for the evening.
