Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Cody

Tanya Lynn Christopher and Douglas William Cody were united in marriage on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. The double ring ceremony took place in a gazebo on the ocean at Sandals, Montego Bay, Jamaica. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Conrad H. Pitkin.

The bride is the daughter of Daren A. Christopher of North Main Street., Dunkirk, and Charmaine M. Christopher of Maple Avenue, Dunkirk.

The groom is the son of William and Cynthia Cody of Dunkirk.

The bride was escorted by her mother and her brother, Nathan Christopher. She wore a strapless ivory beaded lace chiffon dress with a sweetheart neckline, corset back and chapel train. The gown was beaded throughout the dress, but mostly at the bodice. It had slight ruching through the midsection and had a chiffon side drape with a satin split front. The bride carried an ivory ribbon hand-wrapped bouquet of bright peach roses.

The bridesmaids were the mothers of the bride and the groom. The bride’s mother wore a light beige chiffon full length gown with a rhinestone broach on the waist. The groom’s mother wore a champagne lace overlay three-quarter length gown with fringe on the border of the dress.

Groomsmen were William A. Cody of Dunkirk, father of the groom, and Nathan A. Christopher of Olathe, Kan., brother of the bride.

The reception was also held at Sandals.

High school sweethearts, the bride and groom both graduated from Dunkirk High School in 2005.

The bride graduated from Erie Community College in 2008 with an associate’s degree in applied science and is employed as a call center/deposit specialist at Lake Shore Savings Bank in Dunkirk.

The groom attended Jamestown Community College and is employed as a steelworker at Dunkirk Specialty Steel.

Following a honeymoon at Sandals in Montego Bay, the couple returned home to Dunkirk.
