STOCKTON – Steven J. Stablewski, 24, of Stockton Hartfield Road was charged with second-degree criminal contempt on Wednesday. Deputies observed a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Stockton Hartfield Road just after 7 p.m.
An occupant inside the vehicle, Stablewski was found to allegedly be in the company of a female who had a stay away order of protection against Stablewski.
He was arraigned in Stockton Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

Jamestown Police warning of IRS scam
JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Police Depart-ment is warning residents of an IRS scam.
According to police, a local resident reported receiving a call from an “Officer Charlie” claiming to be with the IRS.
The caller advised the resident that they owed back taxes and needed to pay them immediately or face arrest.
The call was showing to be coming from a 703 area code but programs can be obtained to allow the caller to have any number displayed on a recipient’s caller ID.
Police are reminding citizens to never send any money or other means of payment to anyone they are not sure of.
The IRS will never demand payment from you via telephone.
Calls of this nature are usually found to be coming from an overseas area outside of the United States.

SILVER CREEK – Kyle N. Alejandro, 26, of Depew was charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, having inadequate headlights and speeding on Wednesday.
At 2 a.m., deputies stopped a motor vehicle for alleged traffic violations on Main Street.
Alejandro allegedly began to physically resist deputies when placed under arrest.
He was arraigned in Silver Creek Village Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail

Brittany Pryll, 20, of Deer Street was charged with second-degree assault on Saturday.
Claribel Padilla-Alicea, 30, of Townsend Street was charged with petit larceny on Sunday.
Michael Palmon, 38, of Lake Shore Drive West was charged with second-degree harassment on Monday.
Reginald Kohler II, 26, of Barnum Road, Cassadaga, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Monday after a two-vehicle, right-turn accident on King Street near Talcott Street around 4 p.m.
Angelica Arroyo, 33, of South Zebra Street was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny on Tuesday.

Patrick Brockhaus, 28, of Buffalo Road, Irving, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and open container of alcohol on Sunday.
Frank Tye, 49, of North Road was charged with criminal contempt and aggravated harassment on Wednesday.

MAYVILLE – District Attorney David W. Foley announced the following pleas and sentences in Chautauqua County Court:
- Frank R. Smith, 40, of Buffalo, was sentenced to a determinate term of 6 year in state prison with 10 years post-release supervision for first-degree rape.
- Hector Colon-Rodriguez, 41, of Jamestown, was sentenced to 5 years in state prison with 5 years post-release supervision for second-degree burglary.
- Jhensen A. Sanchez, 25, of Dunkirk, was sentenced to 4 years in state prison with 3 years post-release supervision for second-degree attempted robbery.
- Michael Lane, 28, of Jamestown, was sentenced to 1 -3 years in state prison for third-degree attempted burglary.
- Robert E. Mitchell, 43, of Cassadaga, was sentenced to a total of 18 months in jail for third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
- Justin L. Eck, 32, of Sherman, was sentenced to 5 years probation and a $500 fine for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
- Kathleen M. Hennessy, 53, of Jamestown, was sentenced to 5 years probation and a $5,000 fine for felony driving while intoxicated.
- Tara E. Brooks, 34, of Dunkirk, was sentenced to 5 years probation for fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

RIPLEY – Addison R. Paddock, 20, of Mayville was charged Sunday with unlawful possession of marijuana and having no distinctive plate. Deputies responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle on Barnes Road at 10:45 p.m. The driver, Paddock, was found to be in alleged possession of a quantity of marijuana. Paddock was released to appear in Ripley Town Court.
SILVER CREEK – Thomas Lycett, 47, of Dunkirk was charged Monday with having no tail lights and driving while intoxicated. Deputies stopped Lycett’s vehicle on Central Avenue just before 8 p.m. for allegedly having no tail lights. Lycett was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop. He was released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court at a later date.

- STOCKTON – Barry V. Mason, 23, of Buffalo, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and moving from lane unsafely after deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on Dean Road around 3 a.m. Investigation found Mason’s vehicle struck a snow bank. Mason was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was released with appearance tickets for Stockton Town Court.
- CHAUTAUQUA – Randy Thoms, 24, of Dewittville was charged Monday with unlawful possession of marijuana after deputies responded to a report of a suspicious male on East Chautauqua Street around 12:30 a.m. The subject was identified as Thoms, who was allegedly found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket for Chautauqua Town Court.
- CHAUTAUQUA – Joshua F. Lair, 37, of Youngsville, Pa., was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, inadequate head lamps and unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on East Chautauqua Street at 12:45 a.m. Investigation found Lair was intoxicated and in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. He was issued appearance tickets for Chautauqua Town Court.

ELLICOTT – Carla Lapaglia, 42, of Lakewood was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and inadequate headlamps on Sunday.
Around 3:10 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Tiffany Avenue for an alleged equipment violation.
The operator, Lapaglia, was allegedly found to be intoxicated.
A check of her driving history showed that her driving privileges in New York state had been suspended for a previous alcohol-related incident.
Lapaglia was taken into custody and was released with tickets for Ellicott Town Court.

KIANTONE – Melissa J. Nelson, 50, of Frewsburg was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to submit to a chemical test, failure to submit to a prescreen and moving from lane unsafely on Thursday. Deputies responded to a personal injury accident on Route 62 just before 4 a.m. Nelson allegedly went off the road into a snow embankment while intoxicated. She was transported to WCA Hospital for minor injuries. Nelson was released to appear in Kiantone Town Court. Kiantone Fire Department also responded to the scene.
JAMESTOWN – Amber S. Johnson, 32, of Jamestown was charged with reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment on Friday. Johnson was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from Chautauqua Town Court. An investigation by deputies and child protection services allege Johnson engaged in a course of conduct with a victim under 10 years of age. Johnson was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail. The warrant was served with assistance of the Jamestown Police Department.
Red Cross responds to Ellington fire
ELLINGTON – Volunteers from the American Red Cross responded to the fire in Ellington Friday night, providing immediate emergency assistance to three people. Disaster Action Team volunteers Phil Baker and Deborah Miller responded to the fire and provided vouchers for food and clothing.
The American Red Cross has launched an initiative to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by home fires by 25 percent over the next five years through checking existing smoke alarms and practicing fire drills. Gowanda man charged twice within an hour
GOWANDA – A Buffalo Street man was charged by Gowanda Police twice in one hour on harassment and assault charges Feb. 11.
According to Gowanda Police, John H. Quiter, 53, was charged with second-degree harassment just after midnight. Police received a complaint from a female subject that Quiter was making excessive unwanted phone calls to this subject after being told not to call her. Quiter, who appeared to be highly intoxicated, was instructed by police that any further phone calls could result in an arrest. Quiter ignored the warning and continued to call the victim 10 times within an hour. Quiter was released on an appearance ticket for Collins Town Court.
Following his release from police, Quiter was charged with third-degree assault. Quiter allegedly entered a residence on East Main Street and attacked a male victim at 1:07 a.m. Quiter allegedly punched the victim in the facial area, causing injury. Quiter was arraigned in Collins Town Court then sent to Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $1,000 bail.
State Police in Fredonia
Thomas Kawski, 46, of Fredonia, was charged Tuesday with felony driving while intoxicated, felony operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol with prior convictions, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and following too closely after Fredonia State Police responded to the intersection of Routes 60 and 20 in the town of Pomfret for a two-car personal injury accident.
Investigation allegedly revealed vehicle two had stopped for a red light. Vehicle one, operated by Kawski, who was following behind vehicle two attempted to stop, but slid on the ice, striking vehicle two. The driver of vehicle two was transported by Fredonia EMS to Brooks Memorial Hospital for head and neck pain.
While interviewing Kawski, an odor of alcohol was reportedly detected emanating from his breath. Kawski was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he failed standard field sobriety tests. Kawski was transported to the Dunkirk barracks where he provided a positive breath sample of .15 percent blood alcohol content. Kawski was transported to the Fredonia barracks for processing.
Kawski is due to return to Pomfret Town Court on March 31.
SHERIDAN – Steven Bates, 28, of East Otto, was charged Saturday with felony driving while intoxicated, felony operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol with two prior convictions and first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after Fredonia State Police responded to Mezzio Road for a report of a suspicious person.
Following footprints in the snow, they were reportedly able to locate Bates. Bates allegedly stated he had driven into a snowbank and was unsure where he was or where his vehicle was. By following the footprints, the vehicle was reportedly located in a snowbank on Whitaker Road in the town of Sheridan.
Bates was administered standard field sobriety tests and reportedly failed. Bates was arrested at the scene for felony DWI and an active warrant out of Erie County. Bates was transported to the Fredonia Police Department and test results were a blood alcohol content of .13. Bates was transported to the Fredonia State Police barracks and processed.
Bates was arraigned at Sheridan Town Court and transported to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash bail/$60,000 property bond.
Brody Kolassa, 20, of Fredonia, was charged on Feb. 16 with third-degree stalking and second-degree aggravated harassment after Fredonia State Police had responded to a complaint of aggravated harassment and stalking. The victim had allegedly repeatedly told the suspect, Kolassa, to stop texting, calling and coming to the residence. According to Troopers, investigation revealed Kolassa was continuing to call, text and show up uninvited at the victim’s residence. Kolassa also threatened to harm the victim and the victim’s friends.
Kolassa was arrested on the above charges and arraigned in Dunkirk City Court. Kolassa was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1,300 cash bail/$2,600 property. Kolassa is scheduled to return to Dunkirk City Court on March 10.
State Police in Jamestown
ELLICOTT – Kevin J. Rohlin, 21, of Jamestown, was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated after New York State Troopers were assisting at the scene of a vehicle in a snowbank and interviewed Rohlin, who was in a separate vehicle and was there to pull out the vehicle in the snowbank.
An odor of alcohol was reportedly detected, and after field tests, Rohlin was placed under arrest and taken to the Jamestown barracks for processing where a blood alcohol content of .11 percent was obtained.
Rohlin is to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date. He was released to a third party.
Gowanda Police Department
Todd A. Dellahoy, 38, of Erie, Pa., was charged on a warrant on Jan. 28. Police were notified of two active arrest warrants for Dellahoy who was allegedly residing in the village. Dellahoy was wanted by New York State Police for failure to appear in court and wanted by the Pennsylvania police for a burglary he allegedly committed in Erie. Dellahoy was turned over to state police and will be extradited to Pennsylvania on their warrant.
Joni L. Goodwill, 34, of Buffalo Street, was charged with having no front license plate, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and operating a vehicle without insurance on Feb. 1. Goodwill was stopped by police on Buffalo Street for not having a front license plate. Goodwill’s registration was found to be allegedly suspended. She was released to appear in Collins Town Court.
John W. Schott, 52, of Palmer Street was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, moving from lane unsafely, leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated on Feb. 4. Police responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident on West Hill Street and Maltbie Road. Schott allegedly struck a guardrail disabling his vehicle and had left the scene. Schott soon returned to the scene and received medical attention and was transported to Lake Shore Hospital by Gowanda Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Schott was found to be allegedly intoxicated and failed several sobriety checks. Schott was released to appear in Persia Town Court.
Hershel J. Twoguns, 51, of Bush Road was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Feb. 5. Twoguns was acting suspiciously in what appeared to be an alleged drug exchange on Walnut Street. Twoguns was stopped by police and found to be in alleged possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was released to appear in Persia Town Court.
Nicholas P. Halftown, 21, of Jamestown Street was charged on a warrant on Feb. 8. Police responded to a disturbance on Jamestown Street and found Halftown was wanted by Brant Town Court for child endangerment. Halftown was turned over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
Arlyn J. Schindler, 31, of East Main Street was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Feb. 12. Schindler was stopped by police on East Main Street for an alleged traffic infraction. Schindler’s licensed was found to be revoked. Schindler was released to appear in Collins Town Court.
Eric A. Ion, 42, of Rimersburg was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Saturday. Ion was stopped by police on Buffalo Street at 6:35 p.m., for an alleged traffic infraction. A DMV computer check revealed Ion’s license had been suspended 16 times for various reasons. Ion was arraigned in Collins Town Court and sent to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Angel Reyes, 27, of Main Street was charged with second-degree harassment on Feb. 11.
Richard Balzer, 51, of Washington Avenue was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree menacing on Feb. 12.
Jaime Fuller, 29, of Brigham Road was charged with unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and speed in zone on Feb. 13 after a two-vehicle, sideswipe accident involving a parked vehicle on Marsden Street near Park Avenue around 2:30 p.m.
Joshua Seekings, 21, of Eagle Street, Fredonia, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Sunday after a two-vehicle, right-turn accident in the parking lot of 1170 Central Ave. around 9 p.m.
Ruben Pagan-Sanchez, 35, of King Street was charged with petit larceny on Monday.
Jonathan Herdzik, 29, of South Serval Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and petit larceny on Tuesday.

FRENCH CREEK – Maurice J. Collins, 46, of Erie, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated and moving from lane unsafely Saturday. At 2:09 a.m., deputies on patrol found Collins’ vehicle in a ditch on Old Road. Collins was found to be allegedly intoxicated and allegedly refused a chemical test. Collins was arraigned in French Creek Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 property bond. Collins will appear back in court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD – Todd A. Bower, 26, of Jamestown was charged with operating while registration suspended or revoked, operating without insurance, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operator and unlawful possession of marijuana on Monday. Bower was stopped for driving with an alleged suspended vehicle registration. Bower was also found to allegedly have no insurance and a suspended driver’s license. Bower admitted to having marijuana in his pocket during the traffic stop. Bower was released to appear in Busti Town Court at a later date.
HANOVER – Joseph R. Cwynar, 31, of Hamburg was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding on Monday. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Hanover Road for allegedly speeding at 2:11 a.m. Cwynar was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop and was released to appear in Hanover Town Court.
Cause released in fire
BUSTI – The Chautau-qua County Fire Investiga-tion Team has released the cause of a Monday structure fire. The county investigation team was requested by Lakewood Fire Department to determine the cause at Carving Masters Inc., at 4718 Cramer Drive.
Following an investigation, it was determined the fire originated in the painting room and was caused by an electric baseboard heater. The building was deemed a total loss.

Troopers release name of women killed in accident
OBSERVER Staff Report
HANOVER – A 33-year-old Dunkirk city woman and her daughter have been identified after a double-fatal accident on the New York State Thruway on Valentine’s Day Saturday.
According to State Police, Ashley R. Griffith and her 9-year-old daughter Avery Jade died after the vehicle they were passengers in struck a parked tractor-trailer in the town of Hanover.
Around 10:50 a.m., a Dodge Ram pickup truck, traveling eastbound, reportedly struck the rear of the Volvo tractor-trailer, which was stopped on the right shoulder of Interstate 90.
Police say the driver and two other passengers in the pickup truck were transported to Lake Shore Hospital via Alstar Ambulance for further treatment and evaluation. None of their injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
The Thruway was closed to eastbound traffic between Exit 59 in Dunkirk and Exit 58 near Silver Creek while the accident was investigated and the coroner removed the deceased. Traffic was directed off the Thruway and the on ramps at those locations were closed.
Irving Second Assistant Fire Chief Cory Irish noted weather was not a factor in the accident, as the roads were clear and the incident occurred before heavy snow began to fall in the area. He added responders were on the scene for three hours.
The collision remains under investigation.

ELLERY – Isaiah J. Graham, 29, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher and failure to maintain lane on Thursday. Deputies responded to the report of a car off the road on Maple Grove Road at 3:30 a.m. Graham was found to be allegedly intoxicated. Gra-ham was released to appear in Ellery Town Court and was transferred to the James-town Police Department for active warrants.
JAMESTOWN – Corey J. Keeler, 24, of Forest Avenue was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Thursday. Keeler was taken into custody on an arrest warrant at 8:45 p.m. The warrant stems from an incident that happened in December where Keeler allegedly knowingly possessed stolen property consisting of a 12-gauge shotgun and a 770 7mm bolt action rifle. Keeler then sold the stolen property to another individual. Keeler was released to appear in Jamestown City Court.
WESTFIELD – Todd A. Throne, 42, of Brocton was charged with driving while intoxicated on Friday. Deputies responded, along with Westfield Police, to the report of a fight at a business within the town of Westfield at 5:20 p.m. It was reported that the suspect had left in a vehicle driving toward the village. Police were able to stop Throne’s vehicle on Route 20 and identified him as the suspect in the fight. Throne was allegedly intoxicated during the stop and was released to appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date.
MAYVILLE – Amber Lang, 28, and Joseph Dubbs, 35, both of Rocky River, Ohio, were both charged with operating a snowmobile while intoxicated on Friday.
Around 9:15 p.m., deputies reportedly observed a snowmobile off Trail 4B near Route 430 in Mayville. Upon investigation, it was determined that Lang was reportedly attempting to turn her snowmobile around when she backed off the side of the trail and down a small embankment. The snowmobile then became stuck.
Dubbs, who was operating another snowmobile with Lang, reportedly stopped and attempted to get the snowmobile back on the trail, but was unsuccessful.
Further investigation found the two to allegedly be intoxicated.
Tickets were issued to them for Chautauqua Town Court, with additional charges reportedly pending.
Michael Abram, 24, of Eden was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, fail to stop at a red signal and no headlamp on Saturday.
Around 2:30 a.m., deputies stopped Abram’s vehicle on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret for allegedly having only one functioning headlamp and failing to stop at a red light. Upon investigation, Abram was allegedly found to be intoxicated.
He was issued tickets for Pomfret Town Court.
State Police at Collins
HANOVER – Michael Nelson, 66, of Jaekle Avenue, Silver Creek, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Feb. 8.
Troopers stopped Nelson’s vehicle on Routes 5 and 20 for alleged traffic violations and determined he was allegedly intoxicated after he failed a series of field sobriety tests. He was processed at the Collins barracks with a reportable blood alcohol content of .17 percent.
He will appear in Hanover Town Court.
GOWANDA – Jesse Blackwell, 25, of Hawkins Road was charged with first-degree falsifying business records, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and third-degree grand larceny on Feb. 9.
Troopers and state Department of Labor investigators alleged that Blackwell collected approximately $7,200 worth of unemployment benefits, on and off, between July 2011 and December 2013, all while gainfully employed.
He will appear in Springville Village Court.

Jamestown shooting suspects on the loose
Two suspects involved in an 11th Street shooting today are on the loose.
Jamestown Police responded to the call of several shots being fired in the area of 21 W. 11th St. at 12:15 p.m. Responding officers did observe multiple bullet holes in front of the residence. Eyewitnesses observed two black males approach the home on foot, after which one of the suspects fired several rounds toward the residence. Both subjects then fled through the back yard toward W. 10th Street, where they were observed getting into a teal or turquoise colored sedan that was last seen headed toward Washington Street.
An investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have information on the identity of the suspects or the vehicle described are asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7537. Anonymous tips can be left on the anonymous tip line at 483-Tips (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
No injuries were reported.
Police in search of Jamestown meth bust suspect
JAMESTOWN – Further investigation by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force into methamphetamine discovered at 242 McKinley Ave. on Thursday has resulted in charges being levied against a second suspect, 30-year-old Jamestown resident Beau K. Jones.
The felony warrants are for second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and second degree criminal impersonation, as Jones gave a false name to an officer on the day of the incident in an effort to avoid apprehension.
Anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Jones is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7537.
In conjunction with the McKinley Avenue bust Thursday, police arrested Alexander Jankowiak, 20, a resident at the address, after investigators from the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant and located a quantity of materials used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Investigators did observe multiple containers that appeared to be for the manufacture of meth that is often referred to the “one pot” or “shake and bake” method.
A separate investigation is also under way after another meth lab was discovered Friday at 305 E. Fifth St. No arrests have been made, but a quantity of methamphetamine and chemical compounds used to manufacture meth were located. The investigation is ongoing, and an arrest is expected.

Christopher J. Ley, 54, of Dunkirk was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or more and unsafe turn on Wednesday.
Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Route 5 in the town of Dunkirk just before 7:30 p.m.
Ley allegedly misjudged a turn and drove into the ditch. Ley was found to be allegedly intoxicated. Ley was released to appear in Dunkirk Town Court.

Javar Battle, 35, of Townsend Street was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree menacing on Feb. 6.
Daniel Klee, 51, of Leopard Street was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Monday.

John Yorke, 54, of Temple Street was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to yield the right of way and reckless driving after a two-vehicle accident on Feb. 3 around 5:30 p.m.
According to an accident report, Heather Fox, 23, of East Fifth Street, Dunkirk, was waiting to turn from Cottage Street north onto Central Avenue while Yorke was waiting behind her. Yorke allegedly passed Fox after Fox made the turn, swerved in front of Fox and slammed on his brakes. Fox’s vehicle then reportedly struck Yorke’s vehicle, causing minimal damage to both.
Jessica Reynolds, 22, of Westfield was charged with second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Feb. 4.
Jamie Brooks, 22, of Lambert Avenue was charged with disorderly conduct on Feb. 6.

South Dayton woman charged with grand larceny
SOUTH DAYTON – A 39-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly collecting unemployment benefits fraudulently.
New York State Police charged Shawana M. Rose-Wickmark on Feb. 5 with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony, first-degree falsifying business records and first-degree offering to file false instrument, both class E felonies. Through an investigation by state police in cooperation with the New York State Department of Labor, Rose-Wickmark allegedly collected unemployment benefits totaling over $5,000 while she was gainfully employed from February to March 2012 and October through December 2013.
She was released on an appearance ticket for South Dayton Village Court.

Dior M. Jackson, 25, of Getzville was charged with driving while intoxicated and having no tail lamps on Sunday.
Deputies stopped Jackson’s vehicle for allegedly driving without tail lights on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret.
Jackson was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop just after 3 a.m. He was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court.
Robert P. Gonzalez Jr., 30, of Westfield was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia Sunday.
Deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 20 in Pomfret Wednesday. Gonzalez, a passenger, was found to be in alleged possession of a scale covered in a white powdery substance. The substance tested positive for cocaine, police say. A warrant was issued and Gonzalez was turned over to deputies by Westfield Police Depart-ment.
He was arraigned in Pomfret Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash $10,000 property.

South Dayton man charged with sexual abuse of a child
RANDOLPH – A South Dayton man has been charged Friday after allegedly having an inappropriate physical relationship with a juvenile female.
According to the Chau-tauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew A. Huch, 30, was taken into custody following an investigation in the town of Stockton. A warrant from Stockton Town Court was issued charging Huch with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree aggravated sexual abuse with a person less than 11 years old.
Huch was located at a residence in Randolph with assistance by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office. Huch was arraigned in Stockton Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Two-car accident leads to charges
CHARLOTTE – A two- car accident on Route 60 Saturday led to charges for a Randolph teenager. Accord-ing to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Tiffinni T. Keyes, 18, allegedly passed another vehicle on a blind corner just before 6 p.m.
Keyes’ vehicle sideswiped a northbound vehicle, sending both vehicles off the road. Keyes’ vehicle struck a tree head-on while the other vehicle struck a snow embankment. Three victims were taken to WCA Hospital for minor injuries.
Keyes was charged with failure to keep right and improper passing. She was released to appear in Charlotte Town Court. The Sinclairville Fire Department also responded to the scene.

MAYVILLE – Trevor R. Miller, 33, of Mayville was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to stop at a stop sign and having inadequate signal on Saturday. Deputies stopped a vehicle on East Chautauqua Street just before 5 p.m., for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign and inadequate use of a turn signal.
Miller, the driver, was found to be allegedly in possession of marijuana. Miller was released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court.
STOCKTON – Chad M. Steward, 26, of Cherry Creek was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding on Saturday. Deputies stopped Steward’s vehicle for allegedly speeding on Stockton Hill Road shortly after 2:30 a.m. Steward was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop. He was released to appear in Stockton Town Court.
FRENCH CREEK – Leonard Morrison, 25, of North East, Pennsylvania, was charged with unsafe start and unlawful possession of marijuana on Feb. 3. Deputies allegedly observed Morrison’s vehicle perform an unsafe start at the intersection of Olde and Griffin roads at 8:30 p.m. During the traffic stop, Morrison and passenger Amanda Kaiser were allegedly in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Both were released to appear in French Creek Town Court.
KIANTONE – Torrey Johnson, 42, of Kiantone Road, Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and insufficient headlamps on Sunday.
Around 2:35 a.m., Sheriff’s patrol stopped a vehicle for allegedly having a headlight out on Route 60. The operator, Johnson, was found to allegedly be driving while intoxicated.
He was issued appearance tickets for Kiantone Town Court.

GOWANDA – Sandra Miller, 53, of Perrysburg was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny on Jan. 27. Miller allegedly stole a bottle of liquid morphine from the Gowanda Nursing Home while working there as a registered nurse. Miller was released to appear in Persia Town Court. Troopers assisted the New York State Attorney General’s Office with the investigation.
COLLINS – Jonathan Perez, 47, of Irving was charged with driving while intoxicated on Jan. 31. Troopers stopped Perez’s vehicle on Route 438 for allegedly failing to keep right. Perez was found to have a reportable blood alcohol content of .13 percent. He will appear in Collins Town Court at a later date.
GOWANDA – Colton Parmenter, 18, of Salamanca was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Jan. 31. Troopers stopped a vehicle on Buffalo Street for an alleged traffic infraction where Parmenter was a passenger.
Parmenter was found to be in alleged possession of 2 grams of marijuana. He was released to appear in Collins Town Court.
VERSAILLES – Shade John, 17, of Brant was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Feb. 1. Troopers stopped a vehicle on Burning Springs Road where John was a passenger.
John was found to be in alleged possession of a marijuana cigarette. She was released to appear in Perrysburg Town Court.

Chautauqua County District Attorney David W. Foley has announced the following pleas and sentences in Chautauqua County Court.
Jose J. Ruiz, 27, of Dunkirk was sentenced to three years in state prison and three years post-release supervision for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree.
Johnathan Hudson, 28, of Westfield was sentenced to 1 1/3 – 4 years in state prison for burglary in the third degree concurrent with 1 1/3 4 years in prison for criminal mischief in the third degree.
Adam J. Neubauer, 24, of Dunkirk was sentenced to 2-4 years in state prison for two counts of burglary in the third degree.
William P. Stratton, 40, of Ashville was sentenced to six months in jail and 10 years probation for rape in the third degree.
Maurice C. Hough, 32, of Jamestown was sentenced to a determinate term of one year in state prison and one year post-release supervision for violation of probation.
Alfred H. Hall, 52, of Manlius was sentenced to five years probation and a $4,000 fine for felony DWI concurrent with five years probation and a $1,000 fine for felony aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree. He was also sentenced to one year driver’s license revocation and 60 months ignition interlock device.
Jeffrey M. Crespo, 29, of Dunkirk was sentenced to time served and five years probation for criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree.

JAMESTOWN – Lorrie L. Hardinger, 46, of Jamestown, was charged on Feb. 5 with welfare fraud after allegedly failing to notify the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services that her two children were no longer living with her from Sept. 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014. She also reportedly failed to report that she was married and that her spouse was employed. According to the Sheriff’s Office, these unreported issues allowed Hardinger to receive $4,663 in unentitled benefits. Hardinger is to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN – Jamie L. Boye, 32, of Jamestown, was charged on Jan. 31 with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign after he was allegedly observed failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Newton and Lakeview around 2:30 a.m. After field sobriety tests, Boye was reportedly transported to the Jamestown barracks where a blood alcohol content of .19 was obtained. Boye was issued tickets for the above charges and is to return to Jamestown City Court at a later date.
KENNEDY – Layla D. Carlson, 31, of Kennedy, was charged on Jan. 31 with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and speed not reasonable for conditions after State Police allegedly found her walking along the roadway about 12:45 a.m. after driving her van off the road on the I-86 on-ramp. A strong odor of alcohol was reportedly detected, and after field tests, Carlson was taken to the Jamestown barracks for processing where a blood alcohol content of .10 was obtained. Carlson was issued tickets for the above charges and released to a third party. She is to appear in Poland Town Court at a later date.

School bus crashes with
students aboard
KIANTONE – A school bus full with students crashed on Route 62 Tuesday. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, about 30 students were on the bus when the 43-year-old driver suffered an apparent medical emergency.
The bus, from Erie Cathedral Prep School, traveled off the side of the road into some deep snow. No one on the bus was injured and no charges have been filed.
Couple charged with felony weapon possession
ELLERY – Keith H. Mitchell, 50, and Monica M. Mitchell, 47, both of Alabama, were charged on Feb. 3 with three counts of second-degree possession of a weapon (felony) after New York State Police assisting at a commercial vehicle inspection detail at the Ellery Overlook allegedly found the couple to be in possession of three loaded handguns and no New York state pistol permits. They were arraigned in Ellery Town Court and sent to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

IRVING – Jonathan Valenti, 25, of Silver Creek, was taken into custody on Jan. 30 for a bench warrant issued by the Silver Creek Village Court for failing to pay a fine of $760. Fredonia State Police allegedly had located Valenti at Native Pride Restaurant, on Route 20. Valenti was taken into custody and brought to Silver Creek Village Court and arraigned. Valenti posted the $760 fine and was released.
MAYVILLE – Brooke Blanchard, 35, of Sherman, was charged on Jan. 27 with petit larceny after Fredonia State Police responded to a report of shoplifting at Tops Market on South Erie Street. Further investigation reportedly revealed Blanchard had left the Tops Market without paying for two 30-packs of Busch Light beer, one loaf of Sara Lee bread, one bottle of berry Juicy Juice and one gallon of milk – total value of items taken was $49.21. Blanchard was issued an appearance ticket for petit larceny returnable to Chautauqua Town Court on Feb. 9.
Justin Pelsey, 22, of Fredonia, was charged on Feb. 1 with no/inadequate plate lamp and unlawful possession of marijuana after Fredonia State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret for no lit plate lamps. While interviewing the operator, Pelsey, the smell of marijuana allegedly was emanating from the vehicle. Further investigation reportedly revealed Pelsey was in possession of a marijuana roach weighing about .2 grams. Pelsey was issued appearance tickets and will return to Pomfret Town Court at a later date.
Michael Lanphere, 20, of Sinclairville, and Michael Near, 20, of Falconer, were taken into custody on Jan. 28 after Fredonia State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 20, in the town of Pomfret, for an inadequate driver side headlight. The operator, Lanphere, reportedly appeared nervous and his front seat passenger, Near, allegedly had conflicting stories of where they were going and who the rear seat passenger was. According to State Police, the investigation continued and a consent to search the vehicle was given. Deputy Beichner and Deputy Ostrander from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist. Near reportedly provided the troopers with a pill bottle containing approximately 2 grams of marijuana from inside his boot. Near was transported back to the Fredonia barracks and was released with an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana returnable to the Pomfret Town Court on Feb. 10. Lanphere allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was transported to the Fredonia barracks for an evaluation. According to State Police, a urine sample was obtained and Deputy Ostrander determined that Lanphere was under the influence of marijuana and unable to operate a vehicle. Lanphere was processed for driving while ability impaired – drugs, and issued tickets returnable to Pomfret Town Court on Feb. 10.
STOCKTON – Michael Piazza, 34, of Buffalo, was charged on Jan. 26 with speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana after Fredonia State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 60 for speeding 69 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. While interviewing the operator, an odor of marijuana reportedly was emanating from the vehicle. Investigation allegedly revealed four marijuana cigarettes, one partially burnt. Piazza was ticketed for the above charges and is to return to Stockton Town Court on Feb. 17.
SHERMAN – Michele L. Irwin, 41, Melissa L. Fiesler, 44, and Tonia M. Bohman, 45, all from Erie, Pa., were taken into custody by Fredonia State Police on Jan. 25 after a traffic stop for speeding on I-86. While interviewing the driver Irwin, a strong odor of marijuana was allegedly evident. According to State Police, Irwin was found to be in possession of approximately 6 grams of marijuana and a metal knuckle knife. She was issued tickets for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana. Passenger Fiesler was reportedly found to possess a handgun without having a New York state pistol permit and was issued a ticket for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Passenger Bohman was allegedly found to possess about 14 grams of marijuana and was issued a ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana. All subjects were released and are to appear in Sherman Town Court at a later date.

Deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 83 in the town of Pomfret for allegedly improperly signaling a turn just after midnight. Botticello-Salerno was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court.
JAMESTOWN – Seth A. Devore, 31, of Jamestown was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to keep right on Monday. Deputies stopped Devore’s vehicle on East Second Street at 12:15 a.m., for alleged traffic violations. During the stop, Devore was found to be allegedly intoxicated and allegedly had a suspended license and a prior DWI conviction within 10 years. Devore was released to appear in Jamestown City Court.

According to an accident report, around 11:30 a.m., the police vehicle was parked at a personal-injury accident facing east on East Fifth Street at Washington Avenue with its emergency lights activated. Soto was traveling west and, reportedly due to the icy road conditions, was unable to stop, thus hitting the police vehicle on the right side of its front bumper.

Deputies checked on a vehicle that went off the road on Cobb Road at 2:12 a.m. White was found to be allegedly intoxicated but was not injured in the crash. White was released to appear in Poland Town Court.

SILVER CREEK – Victoria M. Miller, 26, of Buffalo was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Saturday. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Central Avenue around 8:15 p.m., for an alleged traffic violation. Miller was found to be in alleged possession of marijuana during the traffic stop. Miller was released to appear in Silver Creek Village Court.
JAMESTOWN – Malcolm J. Roberts, 22, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign on Saturday. Shortly before 9:30 p.m., deputies stopped Roberts’ vehicle at Marion Street and Foote Avenue for allegedly failing to yield the right away. Roberts and a passenger, Blake R. Mcaffee, 22, of Jamestown, were found to be in alleged possession of a small amount of marijuana. Mcaffee was subsequently charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Both were released to appear in Jamestown City Court.
SINCLAIRVILLE – Randall W. Harmon, 32, of Cassadaga was charged with speeding, having no or inadequate lights and unlawful possession of marijuana on Saturday. Deputies stopped a vehicle on South Stockton-Cassadaga Road for allegedly speeding just after 10 p.m. Harmon was released to appear in Charlotte Town Court.
Robert Francis, 49, of Bard Road, Cassadaga, was charged Sunday with unlaw-ful possession of marijuana.
Around 1 a.m., deputies located a subject allegedly walking in the driving lane on Bard Road in the town of Pomfret. The subject was identified as Francis. After a brief investigation, it was found that Francis was allegedly in possession of a small quantity of marijuana.
He was released to appear in Pomfret Town Court.

Traffic stop leads to drug, weapons charges
WESTFIELD – A traffic stop in the village of Westfield resulted in the arrest of three males on drug and weapons charges. According to Westfield Police Department, a vehicle was stopped on Main Street for an alleged traffic violation on Jan. 24.
Police reportedly found drugs and open containers in plain view along with an alleged odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. Police allegedly found two loaded hand guns, cocaine, marijuana and suboxone pills in the vehicle.
The driver, an 18-year-old male from Erie, Pa., and passengers, Thomas M. Turner, 19, of North East, Pa., and Brett M. Bisbee, 22, of Harbor Creek, Pa., were all charged with felony criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana and possessing a controlled substance outside of the original container. The 18-year-old male was additionally charged with having inadequate brake lights.
All three were arraigned in Westfield Village Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail.

At 11 p.m., deputies stopped Payne’s vehicle on Barnum Road for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign at High Street. During the traffic stop, Payne was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was released to appear in Charlotte Town Court.
June F. Abbey, 47, of Fredonia was charged with driving while intoxicated and having illegal window tint on Saturday. Police stopped Abbey’s vehicle on Route 5 in the town of Dunkirk for allegedly having side windows darker than allowable by law. Abbey was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop. She was released to appear in Dunkirk Town Court.
