gunshot incident

SILVER CREEK — A village resident has been charged after firing a rifle early Thursday in the Robinson Street area.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies charged Jacob D. Seeley, 26, of 71 Robinson Street with first-degree reckless endangerment after he discharged a round from a .22 caliber rifle across a road and toward a grape vineyard.

Seeley was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment proceedings.

He was later released to the supervision of probation.
