¯ CHAUTAUQUA — On Saturday at about 6:15 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle on Plank Road in the town of Chautauqua for a traffic violation. Following an investigation the driver, identified as David A. Machajewski, 61, of Depew, was allegedly found to be operating a motor vehicle on a NYS highway while in an intoxicated state. Machajewski was charged with DWI, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater, speed in zone over 55 and no seatbelt. Machajewski was released and is due to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

Westfield Police Department

¯ On May 26 at roughly 8:50 p.m., the Westfield Police Department responded to an address on Bliss Street for a report of a person with a weapon. It is alleged that Scott W. Wingerter, 60, of Westfield, pointed a handgun at the victim during a verbal confrontation. Upon patrols arrival, officers observed Wingerter driving away from the scene. Patrol attempted to stop Wingerter’s vehicle, but he did not comply, and instead drove to his home on Old Portage Road. Once at the residence, Wingerter reportedly physically resisted arrest, but was eventually taken into custody.

After an investigation, it was also found that Wingerter was allegedly operating his vehicle in an intoxicated state. Wingerter was charged with DWI, driving with .08% of alcohol, aggravated DWI, failure to comply, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest. Wingerter was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

¯ PERSIA — On May 25 at roughly 11:51 p.m., deputies arrested Damion M. McNevin, 21, of Cattaraugus, following a traffic stop on Broadway Road. After field sobriety tests were given roadside to McNevin, it was allegedly determined that he was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. McNevin was charged with DWI, DWI per se, refusal to take a breath test and speeding. McNevin was processed, released to a third party and is due back in court at a later date.

¯ PERSIA — On May 26 at around 12:05 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Broadway Road. Eagle Eye D. Stevens, 20, of Gowanda, was a passenger in the vehicle, and was allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of concentrated cannabis and marijuana. Stevens was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Stevens was processed, released to a third party and is due back in court at a later date.
