¯ SHERMAN — Shaine L. Allen, 25, of Westfield, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 5:21 p.m. Sunday on Clymer Hill Road in the town of Sherman for an alleged traffic violation. Allen, a passenger in the vehicle, was allegedly found in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, suboxone, and hypodermic instruments. Allen is scheduled to appear in Sherman Town Court later.

¯ JAMESTOWN — John R. Steves, 60, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, improper or unsafe turn without signal and operating a motor vehicle while using mobile phone. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 5:46 p.m. Sunday on East Second Street in the city of Jamestown for a traffic violation. An investigation found that Steves was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court later.

WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Timothy A. Hunzinger, 20, of Westfield, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Officers responded at 2:24 a.m. Monday to Washington Street for a disorderly person. It was learned that Hunzinger allegedly violated an order of protection. He is scheduled to appear in court later.
