¯ RIPLEY — Dustin D. Waters, 40, of Ripley, was charged with second-degree menacing. Deputies responded Monday to Route 20 in the town of Ripley for a reported altercation. An investigation found that Waters allegedly threatened another person with an ax, causing the victim to fear for their safety. Waters was located Tuesday at his home and was taken into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court later.

¯ KIANTONE — Jonathon D. Bellardo, 31, of Frewsburg, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, speed in zone, moving from lane unsafely and failure to keep right. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 10:34 p.m. on Feb. 23 for several traffic violations in the town of Kiantone. An investigation found that Bellardo was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in court later.

¯ BROCTON — Dawson H. Hinds, 22, of Brocton, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree aggravated harassment and second-degree harassment. Deputies responded at 3:39 a.m. on Tuesday to Brocton for a reported altercation. An investigation found that Hinds allegedly threatened harm to another person and prevented them from contacting 911. Hinds was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ Chester Wolff, 39, of Conewango Valley, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Troopers located a vehicle Feb. 25 involved in a reported larceny in Jamestown driving on Falconer Frewsburg Road. There was a stay-away order involving Wolff and another person in the vehicle. Wolff was processed and transported to Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ Edward Winans, 44, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Troopers responded Feb. 25 to the area of Quaint and Falconer-Frewsburg roads for a report of a red truck fleeing the scene of an accident. Winans later provided a breath sample of 0.15% and is scheduled to appear in court later. No injuries were reported.

¯ DUNKIRK — Thomas Petz, 41, of Dunkirk, was charged with driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Petz was stopped Feb. 26 on Bennett Road in Dunkirk for a traffic violation and was taken into custody after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests. Petz later provided a breath sample of 0.10%, and a check showed 11 prior suspensions, one for an alcohol-related offense. He is scheduled to appear in court later.

¯ GERRY — Bruce Flieger, 34, of Gerry, was charged with second-degree harassment. Troopers responded Feb. 27 to Gerry for a reported domestic dispute. An investigation found that Flieger allegedly pushed, head-butted and struck a woman in addition to threatening her life. Flieger was transported to jail.

¯ RANDOLPH — Brenda Crossley, 34, of Jamestown, was taken into custody on a warrant for second-degree aggravated harassment. Troopers stopped Crossley on Tuesday for driving 90 miles an hour on Interstate 86 in Randolph. Crossley was found to be wanted on a warrant. She was transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ STOCKTON — Kyle Perry, 28, of Dunkirk, was charged with driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Troopers stopped Perry Wednesday on Bruyer Road in Stockton for traffic violations. He later provided a breath sample of 0.12%. A check also found that his driving privileges in New York had been revoked for an alcohol-related offense. Perry is scheduled to appear in court later.

SENTENCING

¯ Jason Meredith, 42, was sentenced Feb. 28 by Chautauqua County Court Judge David Foley to one and a half to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to a charge of third-degree attempted robbery. The conviction is the result of an incident that occurred in April 2019.
