ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Justin J. Ecklund, 30, no address listed, was charged with driving while intoxicated by drugs. Patrol conducted a traffic stop Thursday on East Livingston Avenue in the village of Celoron. An investigation found that Ecklund was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated by narcotics. He was processed and is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Paul R. Briggs, 38, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fugitive from justice, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, failure to keep right and inadequate tail lamp. Ryan M. English, 30, of Warren, Pa., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police stopped a vehicle at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday at 40 Hallock St. for a traffic violation. Briggs was found to have several outstanding warrants and was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. English was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine. Briggs was later allegedly found in possession of three different controlled substances with a quantity of pills and methamphetamines that he concealed inside his pants. Both were transported to the Jamestown Police Department.
