CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
¯ BROCTON — A Fredonia woman is back in custody after leading deputies on a short pursuit. Vanessa R. Stevens, 33, of 5334 Lowell Road, was observed by operating a vehicle on Dahlberg Road. There was a valid New York state parole absconder warrant for her at that time.
A deputy pulled up to Stevens and advised her of the warrant and that she would have to placed under arrest. She became irritated and drove off ignoring the order. A short pursuit ended in Stevens being placed under arrest and transported to county jail.
She was additionally charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Jennifer Welch, 35, of Jamestown, was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Officers responded at 7:09 p.m. Thursday to the west side of the city for a reported domestic incident.
An investigation found that Welch allegedly broke the victim’s TV and disabled a landline telephone as the victim was attempting to contact the police. Welch was located elsewhere and was transported to Jamestown City Jail.
She was held for arraignment in court.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Jennifer L. Benson, 44, of Lakewood, was charged with petit larceny. Benson was issued an appearance ticket Monday after allegedly concealing $133 worth of merchandise in her purse while at Walmart. She is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.
¯ Christopher J. Casel, 45, of Jamestown, was charged with grand larceny. Casel was reportedly employed by a local business when he allegedly took product from the business to use for his own personal business.
