JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ A 27-year-old city man is facing charges after a short pursuit Sunday night. At about 9:45 p.m., Greggory J. Brady was observed improperly passingg an uninvolved motor vehicle on the right. The officer activated his lights and sirens. At this point in time Brady failed to comply and led the officer on a pursuit. Brady failed to stop at the red signal light at the intersection of Winsor and Harrison streets and continued to travel south. Brady lost control and struck a curb near English and Holman streets and led the officer on a foot pursuit.
He was located shortly after and taken into custody. Brady’s motorcycle was towed from the scene for having a forged license plate. Brady was charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest, criminal possession of a forged instrument and several traffic tickets.
¯ At around 11:04 a.m. Sunday, officers conducted a traffic stop on a white SUV in the area of North Main Street and Fluvanna Avenue. Officers made contact with the operator identified to be Rachael R. Shavalier, 39, and a male passenger. Through investigation a vehicle search yielded a small quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Shavalier was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released with an appearance ticket to return to court.
¯ A 48-year-old city man is facing charges after a traffic stop last week at North Main Street and Marvin Parkway. Hector V. Ortiz Rodriguez was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. During the stop, officers determined the operator was also driving while under the influence of drugs. He was placed under arrest for driving while ability impaired by drugs.
During the investigation, officers seized a moderate quantity of drugs that were in his possession. He was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and issued a ticket for unlicensed operator. Ortiz Rodriguez was released after his arraignment.
DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Matthew Bongiovanni, 16, of Dunkirk, was arrested July 18 and charged with first-degree burglary, menacing, and criminal mischief.
¯ Nicholas Eggleston, 31, of Dunkirk, was arrested July 19 and charged with criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, destruction of physical evidence, and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
¯ Dakota Cordell, 26, of Dunkirk, was arrested July 20 and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
¯ Angela Goetz, 33, of Dunkirk, was arrested July 21 and charged with petit larceny.
¯ Steven Whitney, 57, homeless, was arrested July 22 and charged with petit larceny.
¯ Randy Hilliker Jr., 45, of Dunkirk, was arrested July 23 and charged with third-degree criminal trespass and trespass.
¯ Frederick Gutekunst III, 31, of Dunkirk, was arrested July 24 and charged with fifth-degree arson.
SENTENCES
¯ Bart Bartlett, 38, of Jamestown, was sentenced Monday by County Court Judge David Foley to six years in state prison plus five years of post-release supervision. Bartlett pleaded guilty in May to a charge of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. In September 2022, Bartlett had been charged after a search warrant was executed by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department.
¯ Jomar Camacho-Monge, 25, of Jamestown, was sentenced by Judge Grace Hanlon to six years in state prison with five years of post-release supervision. Camacho-Monge pleaded guilty in May to a charge of first-degree attempted robbery. He was arrested on Sept. 24, 2022, following an alleged home invasion in Jamestown. At the time, he was charged with first-degree robbery. Camacho-Monge was accused of breaking into the victim’s house and threatening them with a metal pipe and stealing the victim’s property. He was identified by the victim and arrested by police the same day.
