Two Ohio individuals are facing charges related to damage at two cell-tower sites
On Aug. 2, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department began investigating these incidents in the towns of Westfield and Sherman that involved the cutting and removing of coaxial cable lines from the property. These incidents resulted in more than $50,000 in damages to the locations.
During the early morning hours of Friday, a deputy was conducting an area check of one of the tower sites in Sherman and observed two individuals removing additional cable lines from the property. The individuals were identified as Bryan S. Goody, 36, and Philip D. Lakes, 49, both from Akron.
Upon further investigation it was found that both Goody and Lakes were not allowed to be on the cellular tower property and were found to be responsible for damaging and removing property from both cellular tower sites at the locations. Both were charged with second-degree grand larceny, second- and third-degree criminal mischief and fourth- and fifth-degree conspiracy. They were arraigned using the Centralized Arraignment Program at The Chautauqua County Jail. Due to the state Bail Reform, both subjects were released on their own recognizance.
