CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– SHERIDAN – A town resident has been charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child. On July 20, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call, which originated on South Roberts Road. After an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division of the office, on Wednesday, Michael D. Werts, 43, was charged. He will be in town court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Kara J Proctor, 47, Jamestown, was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while ability impaired by drugs. At about noon Oct. 20, officers observed a vehicle run a stop sign in the area of East Virginia Boulevard and Hebner Street. After the vehicle was stopped, Proctor was found to be operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs. Proctor was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail where she was later released on tickets, and is to be back in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
