CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— KIANTONE — At 12:15 a.m. Monday, deputies were called several times to a residence in the town for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, deputies identified the property owner to be Rachael Waldron, 32. A subsequent investigation led to Waldron’s actions at the scene and refusal to comply leading to a charge of disorderly conduct that she will answer at a later date.
— ELLERY — At around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Bemus Point-Ellery Road. The operator was identifed as 23-year-old Daren M. Vaillancourt of Jamestown. Further investigaton found Vaillancourt to be driving while intoxicated. Vaillancourt was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and speed in zone. He will answer the charges later in town court.
— HANOVER At around 10:26 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a single motor vehicle accident on Dennison Road. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Eric H. Kaminski, 69 of Forestville. Kaminski was transported to Brooks-TLC Hospital to be evaluated for possible injuries. Futher investigation found Kaminski to be driving while intoxicated. Kaminski was charged with DWI and will answer for his charges in town court later.
DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Three Dunkirk residents with a history of trouble with law enforcement were in trouble again last week.
At approximately 4:07 p.m. May 16, a Dunkirk Police Officer observed a subject walking in the area of Lake Shore Drive East and Deer Street who was known to have several active warrants. The subject, Casey P. Crane, 32, of Dunkirk, had confirmed warrants with Fredonia Police, Amherst Police and Cheektowaga Police.
Officers attempted to make contact with Crane and he fled, resulting in a brief foot pursuit. Crane then ran into a local business where he then physically resisted officers.
Officers eventually placed him into custody. As officers ran into the business, they also briefly observed a female who immediately fled the area.
The female, Maria E. Dominguez-Gill, 32 of Dunkirk, was also known to have several active warrants as well. Dominguez-Gill was located shortly after by officers hiding in a bathroom. Dominguez-Gill refused officers commands to exit, and then physically resisted arrest when taken into custody.
As this occurred another female, Maria D. Gill, 60, of Dunkirk, attempted to obstruct officers arresting Dominguez-Gill by physically intervening. Gill was also placed into custody as well. During this Crane attempted to tamper with and destroy evidence located by officers, which consisted of items that Crane had attempted to discard during the foot pursuit.
All three suspects were transported back to police headquarters for processing. Crane was held and charged with resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and felony tampering with physical evidence. Crane was also found to have an extraditable warrant from Erie, Pa., and was additionally charged with being a fugitive from justice.
Dominguez-Gill was held and charged with resisting arrest and second-degree obstructing governmental administration in addition to several outstanding warrants with Dunkirk City Court.
Gill was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and released on an appearance ticket.
— A pair of city residents are facing shoplifting charges.
On May 19 at 4:16 p.m., Dunkirk Police officers responded to Dollar Tree at 327 Main St. for a shoplifting that had occurred. After an investigation it was discovered Kevin Y. Dejesus-Rivera, 33, of 135 Hoyt St. and Christina A. Marrero, 36, of 6 W. Courtney St., stole property from the store. On Tuesday, both were located and issued appearance tickets for petit larceny. They are due in court on June 2.
— A man was charged with second-degree criminal contempt after a reported trespass on Main Street at East Fourth in the city.
At 3:19 p.m. Wednesday, Dunkirk Police responded to a reported incident. The caller reported Thomas Majkowski, 49, was violating a valid stay away order of protection by coming into the caller’s workplace.
Majkowski was located a short time later across the street. He was taken into custody, processed, issued an appearance ticket and turned over to the New York State Police on an outstanding warrant.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Dale R. Linkous, 27, of Jamestown was charged with public lewdness.
On Sunday, at approximately 9 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious male on North Main Street at the city line. Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspect, Linkous. Further investigation revealed that Linkous had his pants pulled down to his knees and was exposing his intimate parts in public. He was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown city jail, where he was charged with public lewdness.
— Michael C. Hillman, 37, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest.
At around 8:08 p.m Saturday, Officers of the Jamestown Police Department responded to a westside address to conduct a warrant check during a Domestic Violence GIVE Detail. Through investigation, it was discovered that Hillman was inside of the victim’s residence who he has an order of protection to stay away from.
Officers were granted permission by the victim to enter the residence and Hillman was located in a crawl space in the apartment. Hillman refused to emerge from the crawl space and had to be told to do so numerous times. Hillman eventually came out and he was taken into custody without further incident. Hillman was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and was held pending arraignment.
— Jonathan Yates, 38, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and failure to stop at a stop sign.
On Friday at 3:43 p.m.,officers and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department were working a GIVE patrol detail. At this time officers attempted to stop a male riding an e-bike near the Brooklyn Square who ran a stop sign. The subject fled from officers, eventually being taken into custody hiding on the river bank behind Big Lots. The male was identified as Yates. Upon further investigation the e-bike was determined to be stolen from September 2024 in the city.
— Sarah J. Nickerson, 43, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Around 9:43 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a South side address for a report of a domestic dispute. Through an investigation it was found that Nickerson had violated a stay away order of protection, where she is to stay away from the victim. Nickerson was placed into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.
— Mark W. Weiss, 40, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated per se, driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and other traffic infractions.
Around 12:45 a.m. Friday, officers observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction near the intersection of Second and Buffalo streets. The vehicle was pulled over a short time later, and the operator was identified as Weiss. Further investigation revealed that Weiss was driving under the influence. He was taken into custody without any further incidents and released a short time later with traffic tickets.
