JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - David Burkhart III, 33, of Jamestown was charged with endangering the welfare of a child at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday after officers responded to the east side of Jamestown for a report of a 2-year-old child wandering in the street. Burkhart III was allegedly responsible for the child. He was charged and taken to the city jail until he can be arraigned in Jamestown City Court. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — HANOVER --- An incident early Friday with a weapon has led to charges. Around 12:01 a.m., members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office responded to an altercation. Through an investigation it was found that 38-year-old Jamar Fountain or Irving to have intentionally placed a person of reasonable fear of serious physical injury by displaying a deadly weapon. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Kyal J. Johnson, 39, of Forestville, was charged July 2 with driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and failing to use a turn signal. According to officials, at about 2:06 a.m., deputies conducted a vehicle and traffic stop on a vehicle in the town of Pomfret for failing to use a turn signal. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Jaclyn Anderson, 46, of Jamestown, was charged June 30 with resisting arrest, and having an outstanding arrest warrant. According to police, at about 4:18 p.m., officers observed Anderson in the area of Newland Avenue and Myrtle Street, knowing she had an outstanding Jamestown City Court warrant. When officers, police said, attempted to place her into custody, Anderson allegedly fled on foot, and after a brief pursuit, she was placed into custody without further incident. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Abraham M. Kamara, 48, of Georgia, was charged June 24 with driving while intoxicated. According to police, at about 2:19 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at West Second and North Main streets. A subsequent investigation revealed that Kamara allegedly was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail.
