MAYVILLE – The Mayville/Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Meeting & Banquet on Nov. 19 at Webb’s Captain’s Table Restaurant.

Guests in attendance were Ken Shearer, Chamber President, and Jennifer Shearer of Chautauqua Marina; Deborah Marsala, Community Coordinator, and guest Stephen Marsala; Charles Kelsey of Access Channel 5, recipient of the Community Service Award, and Yvonne Kelsey; Don Emhardt, Town of Chautauqua Supervisor, and Kathy Emhardt; Hugh Butler, Chamber Board Member, and Marsha Butler of Butler Systems Research & Design; Tom Ferri and Pati Centi of The Watermark Restaurant; Scott Schriber, honorary Chamber member and founder of the local chamber in the Mayville area, and his guest Beckie; and Marya Johnson and Brian Stahlsmith of Stedman Corners Cafe, recipient of the Business Improvement Award.

Elected to the Board of Directors was Craig Colburn of Chautauqua Marina, who joins fellow board members Ken Shearer of Chautauqua Marina, Bruce Stanton of the Athenaeum Hotel, Hugh Butler of Butler Systems Research & Design, and James Barrett of Northwest Savings Bank (Mayville Branch) on the 2014 Board of Directors for the Mayville/Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce.

The Community Service Award was presented to the public access television station Access Channel 5 for its many years of providing programming that educates, entertains, informs and celebrates the best of our communities. Accepting the award was Charles Kelsey, the Executive Director of Access Channel 5.

The Business Improvement Award was presented to Stedman Corners Cafe of Mayville (Stedman Corners) for the attractive renovations done to the business while still maintaining the look and feel of the general store that was originally housed at the business. Accepting the award were the owners of Stedman Corners Cafe, Marya Johnson and Brian Stahlsmith.
