New Directions annual meeting elects officers, names board members

AMHERST – New Directions Youth and Family Services’ board of trustees recently held its annual meeting to elect its officers for 2014. The board re-elected Christine Weeks as president. A resident of Lockport, she is the director of marketing for Grand Tours and Ridge Road Express, the region’s premier motor coach and school bus service provider. She earned a bachelor of science in marketing management from Siena College. Weeks has been serving on the New Directions Youth and Family Services board of trustees for five years.

The board of trustees also re-elected Nancy Kasprzak-Whitmore, vice president of Niagara’s Choice Federal Credit Union, as board secretary. Kasprzak-Whitmore earned a bachelor of science from the University at Buffalo and an MBA from Niagara University. She is a resident of Lockport and has been serving on the New Directions Youth and Family Services board for 12 years.

New Directions Youth and Family Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency with a heritage going back more than 130 years. Its mission is to foster resilient, self-reliant families and permanence for at-risk children in the shortest time possible, by promoting safe, respectful, responsible, and goal-directed behavior. The agency’s mission is promoted through dedicated, caring staff and by employing its treatment philosophy of Normative Culture.
