Craig Colburn named Chamber director of member development

The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce recently named Craig Colburn as director of member services. Key roles for this position include overseeing the Chamber’s health insurance offerings, and working with the six local community chambers of commerce.

Licensed to sell life, accident and health insurance in New York state, Colburn will be working with Chamber members to help them determine the best possible health insurance plan to suit their needs. The Chamber offers a number of options through its Bright Choices insurance exchange, and can also assist business owners who may have questions surrounding the Affordable Care Act and other new exchange systems.

The Community Chambers of Commerce, which serve Dunkirk, Fredonia, Hanover, Jamestown, Mayville-Chautauqua and Westfield-Barcelona, all help to drive foot traffic into local businesses within the community. To do this, the Chamber holds events and works year round to market the community as a place to do business.

A Chautauqua County native, Colburn previously managed Conewango Valley Country Club and the Chautauqua Suites Meeting and Expo Center and worked for the Marriott Hotel Corporation. He previously owned the Farmington Inn Bed & Breakfast in Mayville, is a member of the Chautauqua Lake Association board of directors, and has served with the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau board and the Mayville-Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce board.

“I look forward to working with Chamber members all over Chautauqua County in order to bring them the best level of service possible,” he said. “This is a great opportunity to continue to serve the people and businesses of this county.”

Todd Tranum, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce said, “We are pleased to welcome Craig to our team. Craig brings significant experience in private business as well as community service to our organization. Craig’s knowledge of the county and expertise will benefit all of our members.”

Colburn can be contacted by calling the Chamber at 366-6200 or 484-1101, or by email at ccolburn@chautauquachamber.org.
