Bi-lingual personal care aid training begins Oct. 29

JAMESTOWN — Prospective health care workers and interested students are encouraged to attend the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Bi-Lingual Personal Care Aide Training program.

The 60-hour program, which begins Monday, Oct. 29, is designed specifically for English as a Second Language students.

“If you’re interested in the field of nursing but you’re not quite sure which path to choose the Personal Care Aide Program is the ideal choice,” said Susan Sosinski, E2CCB Health Care Services Specialist. “Personal Care Aides are able to work more on a one-on-one basis with patients, and really, it sets you up for advancement in the medical field.”

Training tuition is $460 and classes are held Monday through Thursday from 3-8:30 p.m. inside the Gateway Center, 31 Water St., Jamestown. Students are required to attend all training classes and acquire a minimum of 12 English as a Second Language course hours. ESL classes are also held inside the Gateway Center and operate from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tuition assistance may be available for those who qualify.
