Windsong frontline workers make a difference

In order for hospitals in Western New York to be better able to address the COVID-19 pandemic, outpatient facilities, like Windsong, have worked hard to meet the needs of patients requiring essential diagnostic imaging and therapeutic interventional services.

Windsong President, Dr. Thomas Summers states, “During this difficult time we want to express our gratitude to Western New York’s hospital employees, whose valiant efforts inspire all of us as they work tirelessly to treat patients suffering from the COVID-19 virus. I’d also like to thank Windsong’s front line employees — registration staff, technologists, allied healthcare workers, doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners — who continue to put our patients first to provide the high quality services that our community has come to expect. Their much needed continued hard work has reduced the burden on our healthcare systems overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Although non-essential exams at Windsong have been cancelled or rescheduled into mid May, Windsong remains open for essential diagnostic breast imaging, MRI, CT, PET/CT, Nuclear medicine, Ultrasound, X-ray, and interventional radiology services such as kyphoplasty and oncology procedures.

To reduce exposure and protect its vulnerable patient population, schedules and services have been altered to provide for adequate social distancing and additional time for disinfecting. Select telehealth interventional and genetic consultations are also available. Genetic testing kits are being sent directly to patient’s homes.

Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, hours at each location are subject to change. Please visit the website at windsongwny.com or call 631-2500 to schedule an appointment.
