HR compliance services save your business money

Chamber Corner

In an effort to help our local member businesses comply with New York State Workplace Harassment requirements, the Chamber of Commerce and Manufacturers Association added a suite of online resources to our list of services last year. By providing the Zywave Learning platform online, our member businesses can conveniently and at no cost offer all employees compliance tools to meet state requirements. Our goal is to provide local businesses the best value possible for their membership investment. Offering the Sexual Harassment training at no cost is yet another example of adding value and helping our members conveniently and efficiently address a requirement of New York State. And there is more!

Our trusted partner, Zywave Learning, is able to offer access to a complete Learning Management System that offers New York State compliant workplace harassment tools, along with a corresponding library of information and guidance through Zywave’s partner program, HR360, to provide a human resources support system.

In addition to the state required harassment compliance videos, the Chamber and MAST have been able to add modules employers need now such as Coronavirus Preparedness, Crisis Management, Working Remotely, and Respiratory Protection Training. These training videos were made accessible for all of our members that are using Zywave Learning.

While programs like this could cost thousands of dollars for a single small business, the Chamber and MAST offer it as a benefit of your membership investment. It’s easy, convenient to use and tracks employee course completion. For more information about HR resources through the Chamber/MAST, please contact Sheila Webster at swebster@chautauquachamber.org or see our website at www.chautauquachamber.org.

BACKGROUND SCREENING

SERVICES AT A

DISCOUNT

As the economy has reopened and businesses have been hiring new employees, background screening has become increasingly important for many companies. The hiring process can be complicated particularly at a time when businesses are not only ramping up their operations but are also putting in place measures to keep their workplaces safe. The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier can help to ease some of that burden. We are now offering our members discounted rates for any background screening service offered through the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.

Background screening provides your business with a better understanding of who you are working with and can protect your company from unnecessary expenses or liability. It creates a safer workplace, reduces the potential for discrimination or negligence suits, and safes you from expensive penalties especially in industries where screening is required.

The Greater Rochester Chamber has been in the background screening industry for over 20 years and their services are being utilized by organizations of all sizes, nationwide. Their highly trained Consumer Reporting Agents (CRA) work diligently to ensure your peace of mind and confidence when on-boarding new employees, volunteers, or tenants for your business. They use the top-rated background screening platform in the industry.

You can learn more on the Chamber’s website at www.chautauquachamber.org/background-screenings.html where you will find a convenient form to get more information directly from the source. For information on any of our services, please visit us online or call our office at (716) 366-6200 or (716) 484-1101.
