Heron Farm and Event Center saluted through Hospitality Business Recognition Program

SHERMAN — The Heron Farm and Event Center in Sherman was recently recognized for demonstrating exemplary customer service and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The venue was recognized during the Chautauqua County Legislature’s March 24 meeting for its proactive efforts to adhere to social distancing, face covering and cleaning requirements to keep its customers safe.

The business received a certificate of recognition from Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel and Legislature Chairman Pierre Chagnon, R-Bemus Point.

“The Heron Farm and Event Center was selected for its cleaning and sanitizing protocols in all areas of the business,” said Andrew Nixon, president and CEO of the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau. “It is wonderful to see the Heron utilizing a business model which encourages social distancing while still providing a great environment for their guests.”

The Heron Farm and Event Center was recognized through the Chautauqua County Hospitality Business Recognition Program, which allows the public to nominate tourism or hospitality businesses in Chautauqua County who they believe have done a great job of balancing their customer service and product delivery with customer and employee safety.

“This event center has gone above and beyond in doing their best to keep patrons safe,” said Bill Ward, Legislator, R-Mayville. “It has enhanced cleaning protocols in all areas of the business including the farm store, campground, and property. Although the annual music festivals were canceled for 2020, they focused on enhancing the camping experience and other outdoor experiences on the property.”

The program is made possible through the collaboration of Chautauqua County, County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency, Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce, and Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau. The Chautauqua County Hospitality Business Recognition Program will also honor other businesses with this monthly offering. “I congratulate The Heron Farm and Event Center and its dedicated staff for all of their hard work and exemplary service,” said Wendel. “In a time of crisis, this awardee has found ways to persevere by implementing safety protocols that make county residents and visitors feel safe, I am looking forward to the upcoming event season.”
