Adams Art Center doors open celebration Saturday

The public is invited to a doors open celebration of the Adams Art Center, located at 600 Central Ave., on Saturday, July 21 from 8-10 p.m. Be the first to step inside for a special sneak preview of what’s to come and learn about what is happening with the building and future plans. Come celebrate the night with music, art and drinks. A donation of $50 per person at the door will go toward the stabilization and remediation of the interior space.

Barker Library presents Composting 101

Today from 6:30-7:30 p.m., the Barker Library, 7 Day St., Fredonia will present a workshop “Composting 101.”

The program is designed for those who want to compost but think it’s too complicated, expensive and messy.

Join Fredonia resident and long-time composter Dominique (Nick) Cherau for an informative presentation and learn how easy it is!

Topics include: learning the simple steps to create a basic low maintenance compost pile; compost do’s and don’ts; worms – yes or no; learning how to use all those fall leaves to benefit your garden and flowerbeds and an opportunity to have questions answered.

Keep all that good organic material out of the landfill and create nutrient rich topsoil your garden will love!

“Be Your Own Medium” workshop planned for July 22

A workshop: “Be Your Own Medium,” will be presented by Dr. Craig Hogan on Sunday, July 22 from 2-5 p.m. at the Spirit Art Gallery, Route 60, Cassadaga. Drive. Hogan specializes in Guided Afterlife Connections. His methods help people have their own afterlife associations. This is a valuable and unique way for people to communicate with their loved ones. The cost is $25.

This three-hour workshop will direct people in how they can communicate with spirit directly without the aid of a medium. No mediumship experience is necessary. The training is available to everyone. Come to this informative session and learn to expand your personal skills.

The Spirit Art Gallery is located on Route 60 in the heart of Cassadaga. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to spirit art, the gallery also features aura photography. For more information, call 595-2921 or 585 314-9362.

REBT picnic in the works

Plans are in the works for the first Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy — REBT — picnic at Point Gratiot. Mike Tramuta, Chautauqua Alcohol and Substance Abuse counselor for more than 30 years, is planning the event for July 26 at 6 p.m. at Point Gratiot. Those interested in attending should call 983-1592.
