Town of Portland Planning Board

The town of Portland will hold a Planning Board meeting today at 7:30 p.m., in the Town Hall on West Main Street in Brocton.

Lakeshore Humane Society holds Pet Adoption Evening

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Pet Adoption Evening at its Adoption Center on Wednesday, July 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. The center is located at 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. Come to see the facility, and meet some of the dogs and cats who need caring homes.

If unable to come to an this event, please call 672-1991 to arrange an appointment to see the dogs and cats awaiting adoption. (One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet.) Also, LHS will hold an Adoption Day on Saturday, Aug. 4 from noon to 4 p.m.

Wine With Us Wednesdays!

Wine With Us Wednesdays! takes place every Wednesday at the Grape Discovery Center, 8305 Main St., Westfield from 4 to 7 p.m. The event features Lake Erie Wines, local craft beer, snacks and music. For details, call 326-2003.

SOAR Chapter 4-1 meeting and lunch planned for today

SOAR Chapter 4-1 will hold a meeting and lunch today at noon at the United Steelworkers Local Union 2693 Union Hall, 97 E. Fourth St., Dunkirk. Retirees of all unions are welcome.

North County Water District to meet July 26

The Administrative Board of the North Chautauqua County Water District will hold a meeting, Thursday, July 26, at Fireside Manor Restaurant, 5377 W. Lake Road, Dunkirk at 4 p.m.

Cahal Dunne returns to Angola Gazebo on July 25

At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, Cahal Dunne of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who is referred to as the “Irish Piano Man” will return to the Gazebo in Angola’s Centennial Park. Cahal presents a one-man, fast-moving, very entertaining show with his vocals, white grand piano, and many blazer changes during the evening. The showman appears throughout the Eastern portion of the country and features a yearly Florida circuit during the winter, and yes, he even appears in Ireland and will be going there shortly after the Angola Concert. The evening is sponsored by the Evans Township Lions Club and the Angola Park and Gazebo Committee.

On Wednesday, Aug. 1, Josie Waverly, a country star from Hilton, New York, will appear at the park after several years of absence. Her program is sponsored by Evans Bank and the Evans Agency.

Concerts run every Wednesday through the end of August. The rain location for the concerts is the New Angola Theater on North Main Street. Refreshments are available at the park. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the evening.
