Guest Palestinian speaker scheduled Wednesday

A program, “The Voice of Palestinian Refugees,” will be presented Wednesday, Nov. 28 at SUNY Fredonia, McEwen Hall, Room #209 at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Anas Abu Srour, Palestinian refugee from Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, West Bank, Palestine.

Anas will discuss life as a Palestinian refugee. Today there are 5 million, 800 thousand Palestinian refugees as a result of the continuation of the Nakba.

Palestinian children and education are drastically affected by the Occupation. Schools often exist within the middle of conflict areas and are frequently in danger from the Occupation. Within Aida Camp (the most gassed place in the world), the children are exposed daily to the presence of tear gas and soldiers directly impacting their education.
