Healthy Heart Workshop today

The next Healthy Heart workshop is scheduled for 5 p.m. today at the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry. The workshop will be held at the new location at 319 Washington Ave.

This month, the Healthy Heart Workshop will be hosted by Ana Figueroa, who will introduce how to make healthy, great tasting smoothies, and give a demonstration on juicing fresh fruits and vegetables. She is a senior at SUNY Fredonia interning at the Rural Ministry.

There will be an adult giveaway drawing for a kitchen or nutrition-related item. Participants must sign in at the door to be eligible for a chance for the giveaway.

The Healthy Heart Workshops are generally scheduled for the first Thursday of the month at 5 p.m. Each event will last about 60 minutes, and is offered free of charge. There is limited seating for the workshops, so call the Rural Ministry at 366-1787 or email ccrmsahl@gmail.com for a reserved seat.

Cooking and Nutrition Workshops are made possible by a grant through New York State Department of Health and the United Way of Northern Chautauqua County. Sheridan Seniors will hold a meeting Friday at St. Bosco Hall, Route 20 in Sheridan at 1 p.m.

Deadline approaching for Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 100th anniversary tickets

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 will be hosting the American Legion’s 100th Anniversary centennial dinner for members and guests on Saturday, March 23. The event includes appetizers, open bar, family-style dinner, short program and music by the John Cross Swingtime Band. Presale tickets are available now through March 8 for $30 (regular price is $35) at Post 62, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk. The reservation deadline is March 15.

Westfield Academy Central School concert planned for Thursday

The Westfield Academy Central School, located at 203 E. Main St., will present a concert on Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. Performing groups include Sr. Band, Chorus 7/8, Sr. Chorus and Band 7/8.

Library to host workshop

The Anderson-Lee Library, 43 Main St., Silver Creek, is hosting a free workshop, Walk Away from Stress and Anxiety Workshop, on Thursday, March 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. This free workshop will be taught by Kristian Reiber, certified wellness coach. No pre-registration is required.

Sinclairville Free Library announces musical jam sessions beginning today

The Sinclairville Free Library invites the public to participate in a musical jam session today from 5 to 7 p.m. Bring your voices and/or instruments as the library comes together to make music in the community. Audience members are also welcome. This program is free and open to all ages. Library Jam Sessions are scheduled for the first Thursday monthly from 5 to 7 p.m., with the exception of the 4th of July. The library is located at 15 Main St. in Sinclairville.
