Clean-up of Dunkirk’s Bicentennial Park planned for Sunday

There will be a clean-up of Dunkirk’s Bicentennial Park on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Volunteers are asked to meet in the park, which is located on Crooked Brook on Sixth Street, directly across from the Dunkirk High School’s main entrance. Work gloves will be available, or volunteers can bring their own. Call Skeeter Tower at 425-2663 for further information.

Trinity Masterworks Choir to present spring concert

Today, at 7 p.m., Trinity Masterworks Choir will present their spring concert “A Celebration of American Composers” at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Day St., Fredonia. The concert features the work of three living American composers, Michael John Trotta, Shawn Kirchner and Eric Whitacre, who have composed some of the best choral works written in the last decade.

The choir, which is composed of 40 community members including local middle/high school and SUNY Fredonia students, will sing a capella and also be accompanied by oboe, piano and a string quartet. The concert is free to attend, but free-will offerings are gratefully accepted.

Ahira Hall Memorial Library annual fund-raiser set for Saturday

Ahira Hall Memorial Library will hold its annual fund-raiser on Saturday, April 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 21 Brix Winery, 6654 W. Main Road, Portland. Attractions include vendors, art to purchase, raffle basket tickets and snacks. Eligible attendees can arrange to enjoy sampling of fine wines. All proceeds go to the general operating fund of the library. The public’s support is appreciated.

Stress and Anxiety workshop Saturday

A Stress and Anxiety workshop will be presented Saturday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Darwin R. Barker Library, 7 Day St., Fredonia. Presenters are Dr. J.L. Mierzwa, owner of Forestville Chiropractic, PC and Kristian Reiber, IAWP Certified Wellness Coach. Look at stress and anxiety from a different perspective: natural solutions have unexpected benefits rather than expected side effects.

Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue pancake breakfast set

Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday, April 27 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 101 E. Main St., Westfield. The cost is $6 adults, $3 children under 10. The menu includes pancakes, sausages, orange juice and coffee. NCCR will be raffling off three great prizes and Subaru will have a free drawing for a dog-themed basket as well. For details, call 326-PAWS.
