Fredonia Board of Ed to meet Thursday

The Fredonia Board of Education will hold a special meeting Thursday at 6 p.m. in the high school library. This meeting is solely for the purpose of entering into executive session.

The annual budget hearing will be May 14 at 6 p.m. in the high school library, immediately followed by a regular meeting of the Fredonia Board of Education.

Arkwright Summit Cemetery Association annual meeting set

The Arkwright Summit Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. on May 29 at the James Prince residence, 2070 Route 83, Forestville. All interested are welcome. For information, contact 467-0886.

Community Sing-Along planned for today

The location for the the monthly Fredonia Community Sing-Along has moved to the Barker Common gazebo for today. The event will take place from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Join in a good old campfire-type sing-along. All voices are welcome; the activity is free for all. For details, call Joe at 679-8426. If the weather is inclement, the event will take place in the Fredonia Grange No. 1, 58 W. Main St.

League of Women Voters annual meeting set for today

The League of Women Voters of Chautauqua County will hold its annual meeting at the Fireside Restaurant, 5377 West Lake Road, Dunkirk today at 6 p.m. Speakers will be Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas and Fredonia Mayor Athanasia Landis. The documentary about Fredonia; “Among the Hemlocks,” by Roslin Smith will also be shown. The event is open to the public.
