Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families Mentoring Circle to meet Wednesdays

The Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families Mentoring Circle will be held every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at 51 E. Third St. Suite 2, Dunkirk (CASAC office). Use the side door.

This group will focus on strategies and tools to help individuals that have experienced dysfunction in a home. A dysfunctional family is a family in which conflict, misbehavior, and often neglect or abuse on the part of individual parents or guardians occur continuously and regularly, leading other members to accommodate such actions. The group aims to work through the damage done to your “inner child” and heal past traumas. It is a 12 step based program where members can identify with similar traits found on the “Laundry List” of the Adult Children of Alcoholics. Jessica Falco is facilitating the Mentoring Circle and “is hopeful of the progress this can bring to individuals and the new ways we can support one another in this community,” said Jessica Falco, Prevention Educator, CASAC.

For details about this fellowship group, call Falco at 679-5081.
