AARP Driver Safety class set for June 1

An AARP Driver Safety class has been scheduled for Saturday, June 1 at the Forest Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia.

This one-day class (6 and 1/2 hours) will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Participants will need to bring a bag lunch and beverage for the half hour break at noon. The cost for AARP members is $20 and $25 for non-members, payable only by check or money order made out to AARP. AARP members also need to bring their membership cards and everyone must bring their driver’s license.

Anyone 18 and older with a valid NYS drivers license may enroll to receive a significant discount on their car insurance. The class may also be taken for point reduction. To register,call Shirley Erbsmehl at 679-4530. Seating is limited, so call promptly to reserve a place.

NY Telephone retirees’ luncheon June 3

There will be a special summer luncheon of the NY Telephone retirees and former co-workers and friends on Monday, June 3 at 11:30 a.m. at the Clarion Hotel Restaurant, 30 Lake Shore Drive E., Dunkirk. Call 366-3401 for details.

County Planning Board meeting June 4

The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, at the SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY 14063. Meetings of the County Planning Board are always open to the public.

Dunkirk Citywide Trash Cleanup volunteers sought for Saturday

A Dunkirk Citywide Trash Cleanup is planned for Saturday, June 1. Volunteers are invited to meet in parking lot of Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. for coffee, water and donuts. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to wear identifying clothing. Groups desiring to clean a specific area of the city should email RevitalizeDunkirk@gmail.com with the requested area and estimated number of volunteers. This event is sponsored by Revitalize Dunkirk.
