Revitalize Dunkirk to meet today

Revitalize Dunkirk’s monthly meeting will take place Thursday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the Large Conference Room, Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave, Dunkirk.

This month’s guest speakers are William Haskas, President & Matei Denes, Executive Director of the Adams. They will be giving a presentation about their efforts to reinvent and reinvigorate the former Adam Arts Gallery, and how you can become involved.

Following the speakers will be reports from the board of directors and standing committees, updates on summer projects and time for public comments.

Hartfield Fire Company barbecue set for Sunday

The Hartfield Volunteer Fire Company will hold a barbecue on Sunday, July 21 from noon to sold out. It will take place at the Fire Hall, Elmwood Road. The costs are $10 for a chicken meal, $5 for a child’s meal or a chicken half; $11 for a ribs dinner or $7 for ribs only.

Gowanda American Legion plans 100th Anniversary Picnic

The public is invited to the Gowanda American Legion Post #409 100th Anniversary Picnic on Sunday, July 21. The doors open at 1 p.m. with dinner from 2 to 4 p.m. The meal features a pig roast and homemade sides and is sponsored by Mike Wesley at the American Legion Post #409, 100 Legion Drive, Gowanda. With questions, call 532-3592.

The celebration features food, live music and beverages. Veterans are free. Donations for others are $10 per person. Presale tickets are available at the Legion or at the door. Music will be provided by The Buffalo Touch.

Fredonia-Pomfret Democratic Association annual summer picnic set for July 23

The annual summer picnic sponsored by the Fredonia-Pomfret Democratic Association will be held on Tuesday, July 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Russell Joy Park, upper pavilion. Meet and greet neighbors, local candidates and other guests. Tickets are $10. Picnic style food such hamburgers, veggie burgers, salads, desserts and beverages will be served. There will be basket raffles too! Everyone is welcome.
