Shakespeare on the Lake invites artisans to rehearsal

Area artists, performers, makers and crafters are invited to a meet-and-greet and dress rehearsal performance of Shakespeare on the Lake’s “Two Gentlemen of Verona” today at 6:30 p.m. Area artisans are encouraged to socialize and network before enjoying the performance.

Please note: the rehearsal is not open to the general public. Artisans should bring a business card, flyer, etc. to gain entry to the event. Visit Shakespeare on the Lake on Facebook or email info@playonarts.org for more information.

Deer, hunting license sales start Thursday

PERRYSBURG — Deer management permits and hunting license sales begin Thursday at the Perrysburg town clerk’s office, 10460 Peck Hill Road. Permits will be on sale until the close of business Oct. 1.

Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. To schedule an appointment outside of these hours, contact town Clerk Tamara A. Utley at 532-4090.

Federal duck stamps and EZ Passes can also be purchased from the clerk’s office.

Fredonia Planning Board to meet

The Village of Fredonia Planning Board will meet today at 5:30 p.m. Topic of discussion will be changes to the rental law, Chapter 179 of the local code.

Taylor reunion takes place Sunday

A Taylor reunion is set for 1 p.m. Sunday at Point Gratiot Park. Participants are asked to bring a dish to pass and a item to be auctioned. The event includes games, prizes, food and fun. The hostess is Debbie Taylor and host is Brad Taylor.

Fredonia GOP candidates plan gathering

Meet “Team Fredonia” Republican candidates for Fredonia mayor, trustees, Pomfret town board and town supervisor and legislature on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at EBC West Brew Pub, 34 W. Main St., Fredonia.

Tickets are $20 each, with proceeds going to fund local Republican campaigns and can be purchased by calling Melanie Mann at 310-0173.
