Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish to host Polka Fest Sunday

On Sunday, Aug. 11, Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish, 324 Townsend St. in Dunkirk will host Polka Fest 2019. The day begins with an outdoor Polka Mass, followed by live music featuring Special Delivery, Lenny Gomulka and the Chicago Push. Enjoy an outdoor menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, Polish sausage, pizza by the slice and Babcia’s Pierogies. Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue dinners will be served from noon until sold out and include half a chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetable, dinner roll and ice cream. Tickets are $10 and available at St. Hyacinth’s and St. Hedwig’s churches after mass, Big Rick’s One Stop, Matt’s News, Fourth Ward Deli and Tommy’s Barber Shop.

Special meeting set for Tuesday for Fredonia Board of Education

The Fredonia Board of Education will hold a special meeting Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m. in the high school library.

Chautauqua County Planning Board to meet Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, in the conference room of the Chautauqua County Division of Planning and Community Development Office at 2 South Portage Street, Westfield. Meetings of the County Planning Board are held on the first Tuesday of the month and are always open to the public.

American Legion Post 62 organizational meeting Aug. 14

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 Organizational Meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. at Post 62, 211 Central Ave. All Legion members of Post 62, Auxiliary Unit 62 and S.A.L. Squadron 62 are encouraged to attend to plan activities for the upcoming 2019-20 year.
