Railroad work on South Roberts Road set for Monday

Railroad crews will be making repairs to the South Roberts Road railroad crossing located in the city of Dunkirk beginning Monday, Aug. 19. South Roberts Road will be closed to all traffic at the Norfolk Southern railroad crossing Monday and Tuesday. A detour will be posted.

Water Street parking lot closed today

The Fredonia Department of Public Works has announced that the Water Street parking lot will be closed to be oiled and stoned today until 5 p.m.

The NY Telephone Retirees, former co-workers and friends will hold a get-together luncheon on Monday, Aug. 19 at noon at Liberty’s, 21 Prospect St., Fredonia. Please note that this month’s gathering is a week earlier than usual. Those interested in further details can call 366-3401.

Community Sing-along in Bicentennial Park planned for Aug. 20

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, a sing-along will take place in Bicentennial Park, across from Dunkirk High School, from 6 to 8 p.m. Join the Academy Heights Neighborhood Association at a community summer event held in this beautiful venue. There will be songbooks to share. This summer activity is open to public and requires no extra technology, just enthusiasm. Bring a blanket or chair, picnic basket and snacks.
