Lemonade stand in support of Lakeshore Humane Society
Lizzy Meyer along with her twin sister (Ali and Ana) and two cousins (Joey and Ellie) will host a Lemonade Stand from Thursday, Aug. 22 through Sunday Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day at 739 Deer St., Dunkirk. Stop in for ice cold lemonade, plus lemon cupcakes and lemon bars (while they last) and help support our local animal shelter.
Cassadaga Community Picnic set for Friday
On Friday at 5:30 p.m., the entire community is invited to the third Annual Cassadaga Community Picnic at Cassadaga Beach. There will be games, contests and lots of fun for all. Swim lesson participants will receive their awards as well. Bring a dish to pass. Hot dogs, drinks, and table service will be provided. Cassadaga Beach is located on Park Avenue in Cassadaga. Additional parking may be found at the fire hall on Mill Street, Cassadaga Library on Maple Avenue or at the corners of Maple and Route 60.
In case of inclement weather, this event will be held at the Community Building on Mill Street.
Bird Hike at Lake Erie State Park on Saturday
Calling all nature enthusiasts! Want to learn more about the common birds in the area, and how to attract them to your bird feeders at home? Join Judy Callahan as she leads a fun, leisurely stroll through Lake Erie State Park. Discover the birds and other creatures during this nature hike and learn more about the art of birding.
This event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Lake Erie State Park, 5838 Route 5, Brocton. Attendees will meet at the campground playground. This program is free to the public and no registration is required. Dress for the weather.
