Fly tying/ fly fishing classes begin Tuesday, Aug. 27

The Children in the Stream/4H Youth Fly Fishing Program will open its 21th season on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The fly tying/ fly fishing classes will occur every Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Costello Room in the Rockefeller Art Center at the State University of New York at Fredonia. Note that this is a change in meeting days that the classes will be meeting.

Field trips are also scheduled periodically throughout the fall and spring, with brook trout stocking occurring in October.

The program is open to children over 12 and community members of all ages and is provided at no cost. provided Everything needed is provided … just show up. No long-term commitment needed.

Crafters needed for History Fair

Crafters are needed for this year’s Sinclairville History Fair on Sept. 14. The show is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with set up starting at 7 a.m. A 10×10 space is only $10 if paid by Sept. 1 and $15 after. To register, call Tracy at 673-5526.

Fredonia High School Class of ’73 get-together

The Fredonia High School Class of 1973 will hold a get-together on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. at Coughlan’s Pub, 47 W. Main St., Fredonia.

Chautauqua County Food Policy Council to meet

The Chautauqua County Food Policy Council will be meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Park United Methodist Church’s Jefferson Hall, 25 Maple Avenue, Cassadaga.

Karaoke singers needed

A new event is happening at this year’s Sinclairville History Fair on Sept. 14. There will be a Karaoke contest at 3 p.m. in the gazebo in the park. Each singer will be judged and there will be $300 in cash prizes awarded. There is no entry fee but contestants must register in advance and the contest is limited to 20 contestants.
