Water outages possible in Fredonia today

The Fredonia Department of Public Works would like to alert residents on Forbes Place, Leon Place, Lambert Avenue and Cottage Street that final stages of work on the emergency water line project will occur today and Thursday. Residents may experience temporary water outages between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Pups on the Patio event set for Sept. 7

A Pups on the Patio event will be held Saturday, Sept. 7 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Grape Discovery Center, 8305 W. Main Road, Westfield. Bring your pooch down to splash in the doggy pool; meet with volunteers and see dogs in need of homes from the NCCR. Dog supplies (dog food, puppy food, treats, beds, toys and laundry detergent) and monetary donations for the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will be graciously accepted. $2 hot dogs, Concord slushies, Sangria slushies, award-winning Lake Erie Wines, other light snacks will be available for purchase. Leashes are required for pet dogs.

Amish Folk Art Quilt Classes Saturday

On Saturday, Sept. 7 at 8:30 a.m., Ohio Star Amish Folk Art Quilt Classes with the History of American and Amish Quilting will be offered.

There will be donuts and coffee at 8:30 a.m., then sewing and quilting at the Leon Fire Hall, New Albion Road, Leon. The schedule includes a break for lunch around noon and finishing up around 5 p.m. Enjoy a full day of Amish Folk Art!

Coffee, donuts and lunch are included with the $40 per session registration fee that includes all supplies needed to complete one project.

Come join the quilters in downtown Leon, New York in the heart of New York Amish Country!

Expect fun, laughter and the chance to get to know the Amish Folk Art Artists!
