Forestville Pioneer Club

The Forestville Pioneer Club will meet on Monday, Sept. 9 at 11:30 a.m. for lunch, with a meeting following at 12:30 p.m. The seniors will be meeting at the municipal building on Chestnut Street.

Pups on the Patio event set for Sept. 7

A Pups on the Patio event will be held Saturday, Sept. 7 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Grape Discovery Center, 8305 W. Main Road, Westfield. Bring your pooch down to splash in the doggy pool; meet with volunteers and see dogs in need of homes from the NCCR. Dog supplies (dog food, puppy food, treats, beds, toys and laundry detergent) and monetary donations for the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will be graciously accepted. $2 hot dogs, Concord slushies, Sangria slushies, award-winning Lake Erie Wines, other light snacks will be available for purchase. Leashes are required for pet dogs.

Portland Board of Fire Commissioners to meet

The Portland Board of Fire Commissioners will hold a workshop session at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 for the purpose of preparing the 2020 budget for the district and any other business that may come before the board.

Brocton board to vote on water

project grant

Brocton Mayor Richard Frost has called a special meeting of the village Board of Trustees for Monday, Sept. 9 at 4:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 34 W. Main St., Brocton, to vote on a bond resolution in anticipation of applying for a grant to repair the Central Avenue water mains and water lines. No other business will take place.
