Salvation Army Gifts Galore event Saturday

The Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown, is holding its annual Gifts Galore event on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salvation Army Gym. The event offers a wide assortment of Christmas gifts, ornaments, decorations and crafts – anything and everything! There is no charge for admission. In addition, a bake sale, a cake walk and lunch will be available. Proceeds benefit the Salvation Army.

Barker Library presents: ‘It’s Time to Hibernate!’ Saturday

The Barker Library, located at 7 Day St., Fredonia will present a special program on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What are the signs that winter is coming? How do we prepare? What about our animal friends? Join us for stories, a movie and a craft as we get snuggly and look forward to the coming winter season.

All kids are welcome! No registration is necessary.

Reed staff to visit Dunkirk today

Rep. Tom Reed’s staff will be be in Dunkirk today, Nov. 8, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Dunkirk City Hall. The staff will be available to answer questions, gather feedback, and provide assistance with immigration, Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and other issues related to federal agencies.

Access Chautauqua lists Nov. 9-15 programs

“Chautauqua Sunrise,” hosted by Doc Hamels, will have guest Karen Surkala, president of Westfield Memorial Hospital. The program airs live at 9 a.m. on Saturday only, then repeats at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“Fresh Perspectives,” hosted by Gail Erb, will feature Cameron Brooks discussing buying and selling property. The program is at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots.

All programming starts on Saturday, Nov. 9 with the final airing on Friday, Nov. 15.

Access Chautauqua, formerly Access Channel 5, is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman and Westfield areas, and can be found on cable channel 1301.

The programs may also be viewed after the initial airing at the station’s web site, https://accesschautauquacountytv.org.

Westfield Legion Post 327 Auxiliary to host fundraiser Saturday

On Saturday, Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the American Legion Post 327 Ladies Auxiliary will host their third annual soup and chili cook-off, Chinese auction, bake sale and 50/50 drawing. The event takes place at the Legion, 7579 E. Main Road in Westfield.

The event benefits on-going building renovations and the National Equine Institute of Growth through Healing (N.E.I.G.H.) Program. The program is designed to aid in the prevention of suicide and work with vets who experience the following: PTSD, bereavement, anxiety, depression, anger issues and more. The program also works with active military and their families.

Dunkirk High School Class of ’60 follow-up reunion meeting set

There will be a follow-up meeting of the Dunkirk High School class of 1960 regarding their 60th class reunion at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Bob Vans. Any interested classmates are invited to attend.
