Portland Fire Department annual turkey party tonight

The Portland Fire Department will hold its annual turkey party on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at 6841 W. Main St. The evening will feature refreshments, door prizes and huge turkeys.

Sons of the American Legion turkey bingo fundraiser tonight

The Sons of the American Legion, Squad 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia, will be holding a turkey bingo fund-raiser on today, Nov. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Post 59. The evening will consist of 10 rounds of turkey bingo, a 20 pound turkey and all the fixings raffle and a 50/50 raffle with proceeds to benefit funding the new sign in front of the Post 59. There will also be a special raffle for jewelry sponsored by Nancy York and Kirk’s Jewelers. Members and guests are welcome.

East Town Fire Department annual turkey party tonight

The East Town of Dunkirk Fire Department, 10949 S. Roberts Road, Dunkirk, will host its annual turkey party on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. In addition to raffles of turkeys and steaks there will be a variety of door prizes. A 50/50 will be hosted by the East Town Ladies Auxiliary. Free refreshments will be offered.

S. Dayton Fire Co. turkey, holiday basket party

The South Dayton Volunteer Fire Company welcomes the public to its turkey and holiday basket party on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at the South Dayton Fire Dept. Activities Hall, 34 Maple St. Come for fun raffles of turkey, hams, cash, door prizes and over 40 popular holiday baskets. Free refreshments! The community’s support of the Fire Company is appreciated.

Veterans Day Spaghetti Dinner Sunday

Boy Scouts from Troop 219 and Cub Scouts from Pack 219 will be hosting a Veterans Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 10, from noon to 3 p.m. (or sold out).

The event will take place at the Cassadaga Memorial Legion 1280, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. The dinner is free to all veterans and tickets for non-veterans are $8 for adults and $5 for children (5-12).

Chapter #459 Vietnam Veterans of America to host monthly meeting

On Sunday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m., Chapter #459 of the Vietnam Veterans of America will meet at John T. Murray VFW Post #1017, 113 Deer St., Dunkirk. All members are encouraged to attend. Contact Danny S. McGill, chapter secretary, with questions at 366-2287.
