Access Chautauqua lists programming for December 7-13

Dr. Mark Twichell exhibits at the Fredonia Mini Maker Fair at State University of New York at Fredonia in October 2019. Dr. Twichell illustrates how his career as a pediatric dentist relates to his concern for wind turbine noise as a public health risk. The presentation airs at 1:20 and 7:25 p.m.

“Chautauqua Sunrise,” hosted by Doc Hamels, will have guests Sue Tillotson and Jim Cunningham, Celtic musicians. The program airs live at 9 a.m. on Saturday only, then repeats at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“Fresh Perspectives,” hosted by Gail Erb, will have guest Cara Seekings discussing stress and free gift giving. The program is at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots.

All programming starts on Saturday, Dec. 7 with the final airing on Friday, Dec. 13.

Access Chautauqua, formerly Access Channel 5, is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on cable channel 1301.

The programs may also be viewed after the initial airing at the station’s web site https://accesschautauquacountytv.org.

Hanging of the Greens at SUNY Fredonia Dec. 5

Spectrum Entertainment is hosting its annual holiday celebration, Hanging of the Greens, on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room at the State University of New York at Fredonia.

The event, fun for all ages, will include the lighting of a holiday tree, crafts for children, music, cookies, and make and take items such as photo snow globes and stuff-a-bears ($5 cash only, while supplies last).

The event is open to all Fredonia students, faculty, staff and community members. Children who attend must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board to meet

The Chautauqua County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 North Erie Street, Mayville. Dunkirk High School Winter Concert planned for Thursday

The Dunkirk High School Winter Concert will take place Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at Dunkirk High School auditorium, 75 W. Sixth St., Dunkirk.

Community Barn Dance set for Dec. 6

An old-fashioned First Friday Community Barn Dance will be held Friday, Dec. 6 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Fredonia Grange No. 1, 58 W. Main St., Fredonia. Adults are $7; students, $5, ages 12 and under free. Dances include squares, contras, mixers and more. The event is beginner-friendly and family-friendly. No experience is needed. Silver Creek issues winter reminders

SILVER CREEK — Brush collection has been suspended for the winter months and will resume in April in the village. Also please note that there is no overnight parking on village streets between 2 and 6 a.m. to assist with snow removal until April 1.
