Sinclairville Library to host children’s event

On Saturday, the Sinclairville Free Library invites families to celebrate “Take Your Child to the Library Day.” The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and host special crafts and stories designed to highlight the important role a library can play in a child’s life. A Valentine card-making class for all ages will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Children under age eight must be accompanied by a caregiver. The program is free and includes all materials. Sip & Sample planned for Feb. 1

A Sip & Sample event will take place Saturday, Feb. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Lake Erie Grape Discovery Center,

8305 W. Main St., Westfield. The afternoon will feature Lake Erie Wines, Local Craft Beer and a Chili Cook-Off. Enjoy samples from local wineries and Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing. Sample a variety of chili dishes prepared by the Concord Grape Belt Heritage Assoc. board members. You be the judge. Your event ticket entitles you to a vote in this friendly cook-off. Entertainment features live music by Tim Bartlett Acoustic.

Firemen’s Group Announces Meeting Date

The South Western Association of Volunteer Firemen has announced their next quarterly business meeting. It will be hosted by the Rushford Fire Department in Allegheny County on Sunday, Feb. 2. The meeting will take place at the Rushford Fire Department, located at 8911 Upper St. in Rushford, New York. The executive meeting will begin at 12 p.m. and the general membership meeting to start at 1 p.m.

The association is comprised of volunteer firefighters and EMS providers of fire departments and rescue squads in the four counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Erie counties of New York.
